My Signature Scent.

The gift I was most excited about opening on Christmas morning is something I receive every year from my beautiful mum, a 50ml bottle of Eternity perfume by Calvin Klein. It's become almost a Christmas tradition and I love it because Eternity has been my favourite scent since I was about 14. I'd never been without a bottle until this year when I ran out quite a few months ago; I have other perfumes I like, but I certainly don't love them as much. There's something about this scent and my body chemistry that just works & whenever I wear it at least one person asks me what scent I have on.

The element I like most about this perfume is that it's very fresh, feminine & floral based without being too overpowering. When it comes to describing scents further than the absolute basics I'm the first to admit that it's not my forte at all. Thankfully Google has provided me with those snippets of information I need to know! Eternity was inspired by the ideas of intimacy, romance & lasting love and blends fresh notes of white lily, white florals, marigold and mandarin with slightly heavier notes of amber and sandalwood. I'm a total sucker for marketing spiel like that but I can see how they've taken that initial idea and developed a scent that reflects it perfectly. I don't know, I just think it's adorable!

To me Eternity is a very simple and classic perfume, from the packaging to how the scent develops on the skin throughout the day. I wear this all the time and I don't think there is an occasion it's not appropriate for. It seems to work as an every day scent as well as it does for special occasions. If they ever stop making this I think I might have to cry and I never want to be without a bottle ever again.

Do you have a signature scent? What are your absolute favourite perfumes?
xoxo

  3. I love YSL Elle but it's pretty pricey, why don't I like a cheaper perfume?!
I had Vivienne Westwood Naughty Alice for Christmas and I love it. Pretty strong scent but it means you only need a tiny amount and it comes with a cute bracelet x

  4. I rather like Angel by Thierry Mugler but it can be a bit stifling and heavy. I love that perfumes can so easily remind you of people. YSL Opium smells like my mum :) CK do an Eternity summer which I fell in love with in 2007 but it seems to smell slightly different every year so I haven't bought it since :( currently i'm wearing CK Euphoria and my lovely debenhams employee sister got me Vera Wang princess and I got a Space NK fragrance so I'm rather looking forward to trying all of those out.

Random question....what have you laid your perfume on in those photos?? it looks cool :)

  5. Oooh I want to see what it smells like now! A friend bought me Paco Rabanne's Black XS for Christmas a few years ago which I still love, but this year I decided I need something a bit lighter and more suitable for day/office wear so after much deliberation I bought Chloe. I'm realllly not one for a celebrity perfume, but after a free sample, I also like Sarah Jessica Parker's NYC fragance, which I wear on girls' evenings out.

I love the evocation perfume and aftershave gives - one I can't smell without remembering my exboyfriend (which was very unfortunate in the first few months after we broke up!), another my mum, and my grandma... I think it's really lovely to have a signature scent, I'm just too indecisive to have one!

  9. Ahh Eternity I have one, I just rarely use it. You know when you have your faves and poeple buy you other ones which just get left aside. I have two I generally wear, lancome Hypnose & G Perfume by Giorgio Beverly hills. Both I picked out when I was about 15 and have never really looked back.
I did have Armani code for Christmas though so I'll give it a go.

  10. I have two. One is the Crabtree & Evelyn Rose and DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom. Both are very light florals and not overpowering at all!

  18. Eternity is definitely a unique one. I have a small bottle that I smell from time to time but have only worn once. Something slightly similar that I love is L'eau by S.T. Dupont, it's a very earthy floral, yet clean. I just got Givenchy Play Intense (the dark purple one) and I LOVE IT!
