Seven Things About Me.

In the last couple of days I have received the Stylish Blogger Award from the beautiful Anna from The Style Diet/Anna Saccone and the Versatile Blogger Award from Carla who has a blog is called Mad Giraffe. Since the rules are pretty similar for both tags I’ve decided to combine them and so after much thinking (I think I’ve shared a lot about myself on my blog already) here are 7 facts about me!

Reggie Bear was the first gift I ever ever ever received. I’ve had him ever since I was born and I don’t ever want to be without him. I used to absolutely adore cuddly toys when I was younger and I’d always get one if I ever visited a Zoo or went on a day out as a little memento. I still have a couple of really special ones but Reggie Bear will always be my favourite.

I have lived in the same house, on the same street, in the same town for all of my life so far. This has been my hometown for almost 22 years and although I was born here it’s never really felt like home. My Grandparents all live in York and whenever I’m there I always feel like I’m truly home. Don’t get me wrong, I like it here and it’s a lovely little seaside town to visit but it doesn’t feel like it’s where I’m meant to be. I get asked all the time if I’m going to miss the beach and I know I will in the winter time. It’s really magical on those freezing cold foggy days when there’s a thick mist settled over the ocean and there’s no one around. It’s like a scene out of Eternal Sunshine. In the summer however this little town is completely overrun with tourists and the magic disappears.

Very soon I’ll be living in a little village surrounded by this stunning countryside. It’s going to be a complete contrast to my life now and I couldn’t be more excited about it. If I hadn’t met my boyfriend I probably wouldn’t have ever visited Derbyshire but when views like this will soon be a short drive away I can’t wait to start the next part of my life. York will soon be an hour away rather than the 6 it is now so popping to my Grandparents house for the day will soon be a reality and not just a distant dream.

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost three years now and I still pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. I’m a stroppy little madam sometimes, usually when I don’t get my own way, and somehow he manages to put up with me. The 200 mile distance between us has been difficult & I haven't seen him for three months, but we'll make it. I know I’m only 21 but I think you just know when you’ve met the right person and I know we’re meant to be together.

I believe that everyone has at least one talent and I think mine is photography. I’d never been one to have any real hobbies. I hated those little clubs you could go to as a small child and someone was really mean to me when I went to ballet classes so those days were short lived. When I started photography however something just clicked and I instantly loved it. I’ve had luck on my side when I’ve taken some of the images I’m most proud of but there’s something about being behind a camera that feels so right. I’m not a professional photographer and I’m pretty sure that I never will be but I like it that way. It’s something I do because I want to & not because I have to.

There are 2 foods I would eat every single day if I could; one is pasta and the other is vegetarian sushi. The first time my boyfriend took me for sushi I wasn’t a fan at all, but I agreed to give it another go and now I’m totally in love. My favourite thing from Yo! Sushi is the kaiso salad, it tastes so so good and I wish I could make it myself or buy it in bulk! I also really love vegetable yakisoba. The only thing I know how to make myself is simple maki so I have a feeling that trips to Yo! Sushi will be happening for a very long time!

My mama is my best friend in the whole world. She’s always been there no matter what and I know that if I ever need anything she’ll be there in a second. We’ve had a hard time over the last year or so and I know the only reason we’ve made it through is because we’ve got each other. She’s my rock and I’m so grateful to be able to have such a close relationship with her. If I can be even half the person she is, then I’ll have a happy life.

I hope this wasn't super boring to read, I'm sure I've mentioned all these things before at some point but I'm not the most interesting person in the world, that's for sure! I never know who to tag so I'm going to tag anyone that wants to do it. I know, I'm rubbish!

  2. I really liked this post! I've always wanted to live in a seaside town (comes from growing up in a country without a coast!) and even though I'm in Canterbury now I still love being able to pop over to the seaside every now and then. I suppose the novelty wears off though when you've been there all your life!
I agree on finding the 'one' as well, I'm 22 and have only had two relationships in my life (I'm fussy...), so I do get some stick about that, but I have found the right person and like you, I believe you just KNOW when it's right :)
Also I just wanted to say that I love your blog and reading your posts makes me happy, even if I don't always comment! :)

  3. This wasn't boring to read at all it was lovely actually! I too used to be bullied when I used to go to ballet, I survived 9 years cos my mum really wanted me to do it then I quit. My mum is also my best friend I can talk to her about anything and I don't know what I'd do without her! She's the only thing that keeps me from moving away. :)

  14. I love all these and found myself nodding along to a lot of them. Reggie bear is cute - I have a little cuddly dog and bear I sleep with every night too and can't go to bed without them!
Really sorry to hear you haven't been able to see your boyfriend for such a long time but lovely to hear that you are moving together and you get to live in the lovely countryside.
And I also have the same relationship with my Mum; I speak to her every day and she is always the first person I go to with worries or problems. I feel really lucky to have that relationship with her as I have a lot of friends who don't have that support.

  15. @Laura - Thank you!
@Dani - It does kind of lose some of its excitement. I'm totally looking forward to trips to the seaside already though! I've only had 2 relationships before too, never been one for dating for the sake of having someone. When you meet the right person everything seems so easy! Thank you!
@Carla - Some ballet people are meanies! Aww that's lovely about your mum! I could never leave my mum, she's totally coming with me everywhere haha.

I love York too, I went to uni there and lived there for 4 years. I left last September and miss it soooo much. Thankfully a lot of my friends & my boyfriend live there so I have a good excuse to visit!

It is lovely to live by such an amazing beach - I would savour it while you can because you never know, you might miss it when you move!!

  17. This was by far not boring to read at all! Your little town looks so cute, but I totally can relate to you, I love my little town a lot, but it isn't where I belong. I love that you can see the ocean though!
That food looks amazing! I love Japanese food in general! My taste buds are warming up to sushi. It's the seaweed that I am having trouble with liking! But I do love sweet potato rolls, and Cucumber and avacado rolls! Are you a vegetarian? Or do you just like those better? I am one :)
Oh and I still have my stuffed animal from when I was born. I adore it and hope to pass it down to my kids someday! (mine was my dads!)

  20. I live in Bournemouth too :) I know what you mean about it not feeling like home. Ever since I visited California in may, I can't help but feel like I don't belong here. And yes, it is a bit of a hell hole in the summer! Best to stick to canford cliffs at that time of year! Yorkshire looks beautiful! I wish I could eat pasta every day too! No wonder Italians are always so happy! X

  23. I actually loved this, I found it really interesting :) Where you live looks lovely, but I totally understand why it's prob not so great in the Summer time... hope you love where you move, it looks lovely. I adore you and your bf, I think it's amazing how you stay so in love even with the distance, I know you miss him and it's difficult but even I can tell you it's worth it if you've found that and still have it three years later, so cute <3 xx

  26. I loved reading this! It wasn't boring at all :D

I have a a pound puppy teddy, called Puppy (yep, you can tell I was good with naming things as a kid). I love him to bits, he's been repaired so many times but is still going strong. We found a really old video last year of my 1st birthday, and it was really special watching as I opened him up and wouldn't let go of him :)

Looks like you're moving to a beautiful area! I live by the coast too and can't wait to explore more of the world. I love the hills around Manchester. Whenever we visit our friends who live there I always take my camera as I get some amazing shots! xxx

  37. I love your photography. In fact it's one of the main things that drew me into reading your blog, and one of the main reasons I continued to read post after post after post of yours.
I wish I could have you to take my wedding photography, it would make my life so easy, as I would be guarantied lovely pictures. We can all dream.
I love also that this post mentioned York. My favourite city. And also a city that means so much to me, as it's where me and my partner got engaged. I'm only 22, and I met my future husband when I was 17, and I think when you meet the one, you just know, so I completely understand what you mean about you and your boyfriend.
Sorry for the long post, I'll stop now. Haha.
