Sunday Snapshot 010.

.001.
I failed at keeping up with my Frame Friday series so I'm extra determined not to fail Sunday Snapshot! I haven't done one of these for a couple of months so I'm giving myself an F for effort and a 'must try harder' comment. I'd be lying if I said these will definitely be posted every week because I'm just not that interesting but hopefully you'll like these. I was contemplating changing it to 'Self Portrait Sunday' but I'm sure you don't want to be seeing photographs of my face every single week!
.002.
I just wanted to take the time to say again that I really really do try to reply to comments and emails quickly but I'm sorry if I don't manage to all the time. I've had a couple of comments and emails from people who just seem to think I'm self-absorbed and I don't care about replying to people. That really couldn't be further from the truth and I'm really sorry that you think that about me. I'm not just a pretend character that only exists on the Internet, I'm a real person with a life and feelings. Sailboat is an outlet for me to share things I really like but it's not my whole life and it's not my job. I am sorry I don't update every single day and I'm sorry that sometimes it takes a bit of time to get back to you. If I could dedicate more time to my blog I absolutely would in a heartbeat but I just can't, it's not my job and contrary to what some people seem to think I don't make any money from it at all. I hope you understand, I know I could probably try a little harder which I will and the nasty comments can stop now, I get what you're trying to say!
.003.
I hope you lovelies are having a wonderful Sunday! It's super windy where I am so I'm snuggled in front of our wood-burning stove with a cup of fruit tea, a toasted teacake and a good book.

How are you spending your Sunday afternoon?
xoxo

  3. I love your photo, you look beautiful. And your Sunday sounds absolutely perfect - I am very jealous of your wood burning stove and toasted teacake!
Your blog is for you and you don't have to satisfy anyone else's demands or expectations. If people leave comments it should be because something you wrote provoked a thought or interest, not because they expect something back. I only have a tenth of the followers you do but I don't always have time to reply to every single comment left, mainly because I'd be sat at the computer all the time and not only would I not have a life, I'd have nothing to blog about!
I read your blog because of your lovely photos and interesting posts, not because I expect a two way relationship. People who make nasty comments do so because they have boring lives and want to bring other people down to their level. Keep your chin up.

  4. It is upsetting when people think so little of you, but I think you are amazing and as a blog-writer myself, I totally understand the lack of time. At the end of the day, if the nasty and downright rude people want to pay your wages for you to take time off work to respond to them, they can. Until then, they'll have to wait their turn. Hope you are okay lovely xx

  5. Don't let people get to you lovely, nobody can expect you to work this hard everyday when you've got so many other things going on in your life - in the end it's up to you what you do with your blog, and you should never feel pressured by the people that read it!
Your sunday sounds lovely, while I'm busy working my way through Niptuck season 4 and working on my parents' website... what an exciting life I lead :) xxx

  6. Thats so mean that people have e-mailed you saying those things. I love your blog, your posts and photo's are so 'calm' I always look forward to reading what you've been up too when i see you've posted something on the blogger board. Plus i have total hair envy! :D have a great Sunday x

  7. oh that's horrible what those people have said! Honestly, some people are so thick...I say ignore them, most of your readers know you can't devote every single second to your blog (and who would expect you to?) and can accept that! I don't always reply to comments ASAP so I understand where you're coming from :) don't let it get you down, ok? xxx

  8. I think it's so unbelievable that people think you owe something to your readers, admittedly a blog without anyone who follows it could be considered an unsuccessful one, but bloggers should blog for themselves and not for their followers. Easier said than done, I know, but I'm sure most of your followers aren't too hurt that your blog isn't your life, cos tbh it shouldn't be!

I love your blog and I'm always excited when I see there's a new post, so thank you for entertaining me with your posts time and time again! :) xx

  9. Don't take any notice of the nasty comments/emails.... your blog is your own and you can do whatever you like with it, we all have a real life that we need to live and sometimes we just don't have time to do the things we would like to!

Lovely photograph by the way, you are so pretty xx

  10. Lovely photograph! I know how you feel about not having enough time to focus on the blog. What a joke that people think they can call you out on it, though; glad to see you've taken it all with a pinch of salt! x

  11. As I said on Twitter, your blog is primarily for you, readers have no right to demand things from you or tell you what you should or should not be doing. Then it becomes all for show. Keep smiling lovely, I think you're doing a great job and love reading!

  13. Beautiful picture :)

I love reading your blog and I get excited when I see a new post in bloglovin. People who demand blog posts really get under my skin - they should just vanish.

As for my sunday, well to cut a long story short....I had to break into my own flat through a window....oops!

  14. Super jealous that you get to sit in front of a real wood burning stove, sounds amazing with the accompanying book and tea cake!

Are there seriously mean people who think that it's ok to get on your back about comments and replies? Do they have too much time on their hands and not enough to do? Like a lot of people on Blogger, I also wish there was a way to reply directly to comments, but even so, silly horrible people.

  17. I think what a lot of people have forgotten to realise is that a blog is a hobby...not a job and demanding more posts/reply’s is utterly ludicrous.
When did blogging become such a negative thing. I write my blog because I enjoy it, I don’t write it to please other people.

You are an inspiration Jennie, and just keep doing what your doing xxx

  18. Jennie I always look forward to your tweets and blog, don't worry what others think about on when and how you write it, it's your's, it's about you and not them, keep up the good work!

  20. Jennie, argh why did I read this post? I've been craving teacakes all day for some reason, and then I read and find out you're having them!! Grr, jealous person over here! Lol. Even more jealous that you're eating them in front of a proper fire and with a good book. Sounds like a great way to spend Sunday afternoon.

Oh and remember, you can't please everyone lovely, so ignore the grumpies and focus on the people that matter :) xx

  22. I always like seeing your face :D Ughhhh I have recently realised there are lots of really odd people on the internet. And I think you're exactly right, sometimes people seem to forget that hate is directed to an actual person with feelings. We all love you Jennie <3 xx

  23. I absolutely adore you hair! Very jealous, ignore the comments x

  24. Lovely picture, you look gorgeous!
Ignore any nasty comments! People seriously need to get a life if they are sitting around waiting for a reply all day!

  25. you dont need to apologise one bit girlie! you are a normal girl, with a life outside this blog and it makes me angry to think that anyone would give you a hard time :( you dont deserve it at all, you always come across as very sincere and polite. I love you and your blog and I dont think you need to change a thing <3 neither do all the folks above! xx

  29. Pft I cant believe those people think you're self absorbed! People don't realise sometimes that blogger sactually have a real life and don't just live to blog! I know some do...but not the majority. You keep on doing whatever makes you happy.
