My bedroom floor has turned into a giant sea of essay notes and I don't like it, I don't like it at all. I am currently sat in the only note free corner of my bedroom ignoring the fact I have a half finished essay that needs to be totally finished, referenced and double spaced by midday tomorrow because I wanted to talk about make up instead of art history. Turns out history essays are pretty much impossible to blag, I've learned that what I write will mostly either be right or wrong - fingers crossed it's right! Anyway, back to the fun stuff, lipsticks!
The recent release of the new Viva Glam lipstick probably means that Viva Glam Cyndi & Viva Glam Gaga will soon disappear from the MAC collection completely. I'd really like to know why they're limited edition. Surely they've been popular colours and the money goes to charity so I don't quite understand why they can't be permanent. Anyway, I've turned up fashionably late to the Viva Glam party and I've definitely been missing out.
These are the first two lipsticks from MAC to make their way into my make up collection so I know absolutely nothing about all the different finishes of lipstick they sell. I do know that these are both lustre lipsticks and I've found that they are so easy to wear, even with my lips not being in the best condition at the moment. They also smell really nice, not that that's something overly important, but everyone always seems to comment on the scent and now I see why!
Viva Glam Gaga is a beautiful bubblegum blue-pink which is totally my kind of colour. In the tube it looks quite bright but I don't find this a difficult shade to wear at all, perhaps because I'm quite pale. I knew I really wanted Gaga but at first I wasn't sure about Cyndi because I've always been a little bit scared of any lipsticks that are described as being remotely red. I decided to go for it anyway because hey, it's only a lipstick, there's nothing to be scared of! The worst that could have happened is that I wouldn't like it and I could have given it away. But I don't need to think about giving it away because I absolutely adore this colour. I love it more than the Gaga lipstick and I didn't think I'd be saying that any time soon. It manages to instantly warm up my complexion and I have a feeling this may be my go to summer lipstick this year.
Have you purchased any of the Viva Glam lipsticks? What's your absolute favourite lipstick from MAC? I think I need to expand my collection a little bit, I've been missing out! Not that I should be online shopping at all until I've finished my essay. *Sigh* Back to the notes!
