Sunday Snapshots: Instagram Style 001.

I'm sure for most people the instagram phase has well and truly passed but this is all new to me & I'm completely enthralled by it. Since I'm still all blog series crazy at the moment, don't be surprised if many more of these posts pop up soon!
One.
My iPad finally arrived (seriously, if you're in the UK, never buy from Currys online - worst service ever & they refused to even apologise!!) and of course I had to try out the camera with an obligatory posey picture of myself. You can't tell but that day I wore black winged liner, neutral pink cheeks & a nude lip for the first time in over a year and for the first time in a very very long time, I felt comfortable in my own skin. I felt pretty, not pretty in a cutesy way, but in an almost sexy way. Seconds later I was twittering away asking everyone's opinion on the best black eyeliner and I think I may now have developed a bit of an obsession with black liner. Oh dear and just when I thought my make up obsession was slowing down too. Oops!

Two.
Believe it or not, this is actually Ralphie's happy face. To anyone else I imagine he looks mighty grumpy, but nope, that's his happy face. He's not however at all pleased with that plastic ball with a bell inside it. The packaging told me that my bunny will love pushing the ball around the room and throwing it up in the air to hear the sound of the bell. When presented to Ralphie he looked at it and then looked at me as if to say 'What the heck is this, Mum?' He's the kind of bunny that loves boxes, especially boxes stacked on top of each other that he can push over. Definitely a true boy at heart, even if he does secretly love ear rubs and tummy tickles from his Mummy, but don't tell him I told you!

Three.
I don't think I'll ever tire of pretty countryside views and I hope that one day I'll live in a little cottage that has rolling hills with sheep munching away directly outside of every window.

Four.
The village I now live in doesn't have much of a 'centre' to it. There's a little Boots & a Superdrug and a couple of highstreet clothes shops, but there's not many and secretly I'm already missing Primark. I did however manage to pick up this sweet little long sleeved shirt with the most adorable ditsy floral print all over it for just £3.50 and I love it a lot. I'm still planning a little day trip to the nearest big city for some real shopping sometime super soon though. I didn't think I was that into fashion, it's funny what you miss when it's suddenly not there anymore.

xoxo

P.S. Let me know your recommendations for black eyeliners in the comments, preferably liquid/gel but if you know of a kohl that stays on all day then please tell me! See... I told you I was getting obsessed!

  1. Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner, L'Oreal Lineur Intense, Makeup Forever Aqualiner (all liquid). As for gel, MAC fluidline stays put all day.

  2. The Body Shop liquid liner! Only one I can get enough control over to do what I want with it!! Plus instyle magazine has a £5 body shop gift card with it this month so it's not too expensive to start with and then you're getting £5 off lol x

    Much Love

  4. Your bunny is adorbs! The longest lasting eyeliner that I have ever tried is the GOSH Extreme Art Liner, and they have almost every colour under the sun, I have a metallic turquoise and I just picked up a black one too. Believe me when I say they don't budge, not even after a shower! They're amazing.

  5. That top looks really pretty, from what I can tell - what a bargain :) As for liquid eyeliners, you should consider trying Illamasqua sealing gel. You just mix it with any eyeshadow (I use Sleek matte black usually) and it creates a really intense, solid, liquid eyeliner which lasts all day and resists smudging! And, of course, you can mix it with other colours should you get bored of black :)

  9. Lovely post!

I remember the feeling when I stopped wearing any makeup at all save for obligatory lip balm and eye lash curling: it was as if I had never really seen myself before...

In terms of eye liners, I am currently loving the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner as there are so many variations on black and brown for everyday. For liquid, there are two great ones--high street and high end--the maybelline eyeliners (Lisa Eldridge has even vouched for them) and the Lancome artliner are fantastic options. I'm not sure if you've access to Hourglass cosmetics, but their new liquid eyeliner has received raves (http://thenonblonde.blogspot.com/2011/05/hourglass-script-precision-liquid-liner.html).

In terms of kohl, I'm not sure as my eyes are too sensitive for waterline application =( But I hope you find a good one soon!!

  12. The Maybelline Studio gel one is pretty awesome. My experience of gel liners is limited to this one and this one alone, mind, but I really like it. Super black and doesn't budge, and the brush that comes with is pretty sweet for a free brush. Result!

I love the instagram pics. They are super cool.

  13. FinaLly I have met somebody who appreciates bunny wabbits as much as I do! I myself have two lionhead sisters, Pumpkin & Bambi, who are spoilt just like your little Ralphie. They on the other hand love carrots.Try like a little normal mini ball. (Mine have a hello kitty one & they love it!) Anyway Ralphie is adorable & I love the name :)

  17. An amazing eyeliner I used was from YSL.. 'Long wear eye-pencil'.. It's not liquid, but its just as good, and actually feels like and looks liquid when its on. It lasts all day, its waterproof, and I fell in love with this product instantly.. but didn't enjoy the price, and it didn't last too long (but I wear lots of eyeliner) Also it's good if you wanted to smudge it or blend it for a smoky eye.

  18. Cute pics - mega jealous of the ipad! I've been liking the MUFE Aqua Liners - they just do not budge at all. I wore the brown one to an all-day conference and out to a club later and it had amazing wear. Good luck on the hunt!

  19. Ahaha the comments about Ralphie are too adorable! I want a fluffy bunny to squish (not violently I might add).

  20. For black eyeliners I'd recommend Bourjois' Liner Feutre - an easy to use pen, jet black, flows well, I love it and have never had any problems with it! :) x
