Current Favourite: Cream Blushes.

I wear a lot of blush, there's no denying that fact and on most days I wear make up, I'll pop on a cream blusher whether I'm using it on its own or as a base for a powder blush.

I don't have a huge collection of make up but over the past year or so I've built up a nice little collection of cream blushers varying in colour, shade and texture & these are my current favourite four - I couldn't even narrow it down to three!

Promise from Illamasqua is no stranger to my blog, I've talked about it many many times before, I loved it as soon as I put it on for the first time and I still love it now. This warm toned candy pink shade is perfect for brightening up my complexion and adding a soft dewy finish to the cheeks. Illamasqua cream blushers are my favourite, they're easy to blend and leave a dewy but not oily finish, the range of colours is incredible & they last a really long time. The pigmentation is crazy, I literally touch my Eyes Lips Face Studio Powder brush on to the product lightly once, tap off some of the excess into the lid or on the back of my hand and buff the colour into the skin. At £16.50 they're not the most inexpensive cream blush on the market but they're certainly not the most expensive & the quality makes the price tag so worth it.

Neon Rose from Topshop is one that I don't find myself reaching for a lot, but when I do I instantly remember why I love it so much. The packaging is adorable and importantly, it's practical too. Again, like Illamasqua Promise, the pigmentation of Neon Rose is crazy and I have to be really careful I don't overdo it with this colour otherwise I do look like a clown since the colour is so bright. A small amount blended into my cheeks gives me the perfect coral flush that's perfect for the sunny weather and I love it. It dries to a powder finish which I'm not crazy about but that definitely ensures that it's super long lasting on the skin which is always a good thing!

NYX Rouge Cream Blush in the shade Natural is one of those blushes that will go with absolutely any make up look because it’s so neutral. This isn’t one I often wear on its own but I do absolutely adore it underneath Douceur from NARS. These cream blushers are very thick in texture which means they’re not the easiest products to blend but I think they’re worth that extra little bit of effort in the mornings especially considering how affordable they are!

My final favourite is one of the newest additions to my blusher collection and that is Something Special Cremeblend blush from MAC. This is the perfect peach colour that I’ve been searching for and it’s what I hoped NARS Enchanted would be. Enchanted is so light that it’s practically a highlight shade on me and I’m ridiculously pale! Something Special on the other hand has such lovely pigmentation to it as well as a beautiful formulation. It’s not too thick & it’s not oily at all which makes it easy to blend and long wearing – the perfect combination! It looks beautiful on its own or layered underneath a powder blusher. A light dusting of a light pink powder blush like Unrequited from Illamasqua over the top gives the perfect pinky-peach flush and a light dusting of a coral powder blush like Coral Crush from New CID really brings out the peachiness of Something Special. It’s probably one of the most versatile blush shades in my collection and I adore it!

Do you have a current favourite cream blusher? I’d love to know!
xoxo

  2. Ooh the NYX one looks perfect. My only cream blush is Topshop's Flush, but I've had no problems with it so far and it's lasted me for so long that I can't justify buying another just yet :-P Always love your blush reviews hahaha. xxx

  12. I don't have a cream blusher but I have heard some great things about the topshop range. I use Benefit Posie Tint and then put a powder blusher over it to set it. Powder blushers always fade off during the day so I think i'll invest in a good cream one! You always posts about the best things, it always makes me want to buy it all!

ps. If you get a chance, do keep drawing! I remember when I was at college, i was horrified that we had to do life drawing. My friend's attempt looked like a frozen turkey and mine didn't look any better! It was really funny. xxx

  22. The illamasqua colour is SO intimidating. . . (I want it!!) . . When it comes to blush, I'm a dedicated user of clinique's Mocha pink, it's just the right colour, not orangey, not to red, not too clown-y. . . buuuuttt sometimes I feel like in the summer Id rather not be putting powder on. So Ive been using a Clinique cream blush in 05 shy blush. . . It's not the same as my beloved mocha, it has a more rust colour undertone to it, but they are very similar. and I absolutely love it, it goes on like a dream, it stays all day, and it had a lovely dewy finish. (I know I sound like a clinique groupie. I'm not at all. . I just LOVE their blushers- They're not cheap, but Id rather pay a little more for a colour that goes with my paler skin in winter & still looks good when I get a tan- I tan very dark.)
