Twinkies from Cybercandy.

Chocolate Twinkie. // Original Twinkie. 99p each from Cybercandy ♦
When this little box of goodness arrived from Cybercandy last week my boyfriend Mark was like a small child on Christmas Day. For as long as I've known him he's been waffling on about wanting to try Twinkies every time they're mentioned on American TV shows. He's even been to America before but in typical Mark fashion, he forgot to try one! Twinkies have certainly cemented themselves as one of those cult snacks, I remember hearing them mentioned on some of my favourite TV shows growing up, I'm looking at you Kenan & Kel but I never really knew exactly what they were. Cybercandy very kindly sent over two original Hostess Twinkies and two Hostess Chocolate Creme Twinkies for us to try and Mark wasted no time in digging in, in fact he told me to hurry up about ten million times as I was taking pictures!

When I asked Mark if they lived up to his expectations, he said that they were even better than he imagined, so I'm one hundred percent sure that these little cakes of wonder are pretty impressive and super yummy! One thing to note is that they're definitely not veggie friendly, so if you're a strict vegetarian then you should give these a miss, hence why I'm relying on Mark to describe exactly what they're like! He definitely didn't mind taking over this review though, he thinks this is the best parcel I've ever received, ever!

"I don't really think there's anything currently on the UK market that is really all that similar to Twinkies. The original version is my favourite but the chocolate is good too! They're light & fluffy on the outside with a whipped creamy mousse in the middle. Twinkies don't disappoint, so if you've been thinking about trying them, I think you should! And I think Jennie should buy me some more Twinkies for writing this review, don't you?!"

See, I told you he was like a child on Christmas Day. He's mentioned them every single day since trying them so it looks like I'll be buying him some more, his Birthday is coming up soon so I'm thinking a box of American treats will be part of his gift!

Have you ever tried Twinkies before?
What's the number one thing you would love to try from Cybercandy?

xoxo

  7. Ah I hate twinkes - I think they are far too sweet for my liking and the cream filling is very odd. But yeah, it's fun trying out american food - one of my favourite things to do since moving to live here.
