Thank you so, so much for leaving such lovely comments on my last post. We had a lovely day & reading your beautiful comments made me smile so much! Before we popped out for dinner we snapped a few outfit of the evening pictures and Bailey pup wanted in on the action, so he makes a little guest appearance in some of the photographs here.

I have been using a gradual tan for the past week (not that you can tell in these pictures, hello pale!) which is a bit of a faff, I can't say I'm a fan but it does mean that I can finally wear MAC Face & Body foundation without my face being a completely different colour to my body! I was considering purchasing a real self tanner but I think I'm just meant to be fair, I have visions of looking like an oompa loompa with fake tan, which would not be a good look for me! Two cheek products I have fallen in love with are the Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow highlight & the Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening blush. I've never had a make up item that's so posh that it comes in its own velvet pouch, pretty nifty I thought!

How adorable is my pastel blue glitter hair bow?! It's from Beauxoxo which is a gorgeous online shop run by the even more gorgeous Georgie from Dreams That Glitter! I honestly can't get over how talented Georgie is, she really deserves all the success in the world so I would really love it if you popped over to her shop to have a little look around, I'm sure you'll find something you'll fall in love with! I have had a pretty quiet week this week, I've been stuck indoors writing a few essays which hasn't been much fun at all. On monday I started the 30 Day Shred DVD which is hard work, but totally worth it I think. I have been super unfit for so many years and I'm so bored of getting out of breath over the smallest things. I have no excuse to be so lazy so I decided it was finally time to do something about it. It feel ten times more difficult in the hot weather though!

I applied to join one of those blogger collectives recently & even worse than just being plain rejected, they haven't responded at all. Maybe they've just not had the time but it's a bit dejecting. I find that this is something that happens a lot in all walks of life and I honestly think that a polite rejection is a million times nicer than no response at all. But anyway, I'm over sweating the small stuff and I've decided to just keep on keepin' on. I was doing alright over here on my own anyway so that's how things are going to stay for now. It's reignited my love for blogging & I would love to know what you would like to see more of. I'd love if you left me a comment below this post, emailed me, or let me know over here on my little survey page. I would really appreciate all suggestions!

Weekend Wishlist.

I hope that you're having a wonderful Saturday filled with sunshine! I'm currently ignoring the fact I have a thousand word essay to write in favour of looking at pretty things and planning what I should do to make the most of the sunshine! I really fancy a Mr Whippy ice cream with a flake, yum!

1. While having a sneaky browse of the ASOS beauty section I spotted this sweet little Benefit deal! I've had my eye on Hoola Bronzer for such a long time but I'm not sure if it'll look too dark and muddy on me! I've been torn between this and NARS Laguna for a super long time and I'm honestly not sure that either of them will suit me. But this little Benefit deal looks lovely, for the same price as the Hoola bronzer alone you also get a mini Watts Up highlighter & a mini Cha Cha Tint. Looks like the perfect summer combination to me!

2. Ever since I first tried out the Enrapture Totem Styler I've had my eye on the Extremity Heated Rollers! I'm not one to spend ages faffing around with my hair in the mornings, so the idea of throwing some rollers in my hair and leaving them to set while I'm doing my make up and choosing an outfit really appeals to me! I'm so lazy!

3. Vila is one of my all time favourite clothing brands and I fell in love with the Fleur Dress when I spotted it on Zalando! I adore the cut of the dress and the red and white stripes are just so darling. It totally wouldn't go with my pink ombre though, which I'm thinking of ditching in favour of purple or turquoise! I miss wearing all my red dresses and I would love to add this to my little collection, it just looks so summery!

4. There's one word to describe this Ombre Fluid Blazer from Topshop and that word is WOW! If I didn't get so hot and bothered in the summer sunshine I would snap this up in a second because it's so beautiful and would look super cute thrown over sweet summer dresses. Gorgeous!

5. I have reached that point in my life where I'm happy enough with my skin and really fancy trying out a tinted moisturiser. I have heard endless positive reviews of the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser and after a little bit of research I think that the shade porcelain might be a good match for me. At £33 it's so expensive and I think that's what's holding me back. Have you ever tried this? What did you think of it? Or if you have any other tinted moisturiser recommendations that come in pale shades I'd love to know! I was thinking the MAC Studio Moisture Tint might be good to try?

6. The new Jubilee collection from Raffles Bizarre had me swooning, everything is so British and wonderful and I just adore everything. My absolute favourite piece is this teacup necklace, I think it's adorable! Jess is SO talented to be able to create just wonderful and unique pieces of jewellery!

7. I am well and truly hooked on highlights and illuminators, so this Stila All Over Shimmer Luminizer looks gorgeous. Promising to add a touch of shimmer while diminishing imperfections makes it sound gorgeous too!

8. This cream blush from Dainty Doll in the shade Paper Roses looks like the most perfect soft pink to brighten up fair skin. I think this would look lovely with a tiny bit of bronzer to warm the face, lots and lots of mascara and a pretty pink gloss for a relaxed summer look. I also really like the Dainty Doll packaging, it's simple but super sweet and elegant at the same time. Lovely!

9. Another highlight I'm lusting over big time is Sunbeam from Topshop. I really love that this is a golden highlight shade making it absolutely perfect for the summer and everything about it just looks wonderful. At only £9 it looks like it's a bit of a bargain too!

Do you have a tinted moisturiser that you really like using in the summer time, because I'd really love to hear your recommendations. There's nothing worse when you're enjoying a lovely day in the sunshine to start feeling your foundation slowly melting off. Icky!

May 2012 GlossyBox: The Anniversary Box.

This month the May GlossyBox ♦ is all about celebrating the company turning one year old *cue the singing of happy birthday!* & they've been celebrating by holding lots of competitions over on their facebook page! They also popped a few extras into this months box! Now product wise, this isn't my favourite box at all. As with each month there are slight product variations within each box and it's just the luck of the draw as to which you will receive & this month I got one of the boxes that's nice but not the one I would have picked out myself had I been given the choice. That's not to say I'm not unhappy with the products I did receive, because I'm not and I'm excited to give them a whirl!

The first thing I spotted was a pink Happy Birthday GlossyBox balloon and naturally I had to blow it up immediately. Who doesn't love balloons, eh? Ralphie has been nudging and chasing it around the room all evening. That is one very happy bunny right there, ta very much GlossyBox! The second little extra is a super cute compact mirror which I shall be popping straight into my bag because I'm always the one that ends up with food around my mouth or something stuck in my teeth so I always have a little mirror on hand just to check that I'm not walking around completely embarrassing myself! I thought it was a nice little extra touch.

I shall start with the two perfume samples I received in my box, and I've mentioned before that I'm not a huge fan of perfume samples. I know they're handy to keep in your bag for a little freshen up every now and then but I'm extremely picky when it comes to scents, there are only about 4 or 5 fragrances that I really like but not everyone is as ridiculous as me when it comes to perfume. As perfumes go both the Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blane and the Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita are actually quite nice so I shall be popping these into my bag too, along with the mirror. My only real little complaint here is that one of my samples was less than half full, but that's okay, I think I would have minded more had I absolutely loved the scent.

The Osmo Berber Hair Treatment is another product that doesn't really excite me but I have already passed this on to my mama who I think will really enjoy using it. It smells like sweeties, like those super cheap candy lollies to be precise, which is always a winner in my eyes and it promises to give a sleek finish with added body and movement. It says it's for all hair types, but my hair is so oily I can't really use any product at all in it. My mama however is looking forward to giving it a go.

The two sachets of Apivita Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Mask with grape were something I was initially disappointed with. I always find sachets to be a bit of a faff and had they have been sachets of moisturiser or body lotion I probably would have put them in my little stash of samples and forgotten about them. But at the moment I'm really into face masks and I have really been enjoying testing some out to see if they actually make any difference to my skin. This mask has lots of good ingredients to moisturise and soften the skin, so it just goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover because I'm actually really looking forward to trying these out.

The next product I received is a shower gel & I've mentioned before that I really love getting these kinds of samples because I like trying out new scents. Summer Rising bath & shower gel from a new luxury brand called Noble Isle smells absolutely beautiful. This is a brand that really appeals to me because they are very much inspired by the British Isles and the natural beauty that it has to offer. I've just spent a good half an hour getting lost in their beautiful website and have come out with a list as long as my arm of products that I would love to try! The Perry Pear Shampoo & Conditioner sound especially gorgeous as does the Willow Song Candle and the Whisky & Water Hand Wash & Hand Lotion. If their wonderful website is anything to go by, I imagine their packaging is stunning to match!

The last product in my box this month is the Eye Smoothing Serum from HD Brows. This seems like a nice little product, it comes with a sponge applicator wand so it's quick and easy to apply and it seems to sink into the skin super quickly and nicely so you're not left with any greasy or heavy feeling residue around your eyes. I'm not super excited or wowed by it but again, I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Who knows? I might fall in love with it and think it's the best thing ever, I'll never know unless I give it a go & that's the beauty of these boxes. You really do get to try out products you never would have otherwise given a go & surely that's the whole point of subscribing!

I know that GlossyBox seem to get a lot of stick, especially over on their facebook page, whoever runs that has the patience of a saint and I tip my hat to them, but it's important to keep in mind that it is a sample service. They can't include super-duper-amazingly-wow products from huge brands every month, and in a way I wouldn't want them to because it's really nice discovering new brands that perhaps you've never heard of before and having a little look at what they have to offer. For me the stand out brand this month is Noble Isle and their fabulously luxurious looking products & I'm looking forward to dabbling in the brand a little more very soon! And I'm not saying all of this because I was gifted this box, I just think that sometimes it's so easy to lose sight of what things actually are and to get caught up in all the hype & it's impossible to please everyone all of the time. You're unlikely ever to receive a box stuffed full of make up, although I really wish someone would make a box like that because I'd sign up for sure! GlossyBox is about variety and I think they're very good at that.

Make Up: Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme.

Up until two weeks ago my make up collection contained zero face highlighting products. For some reason they never appealed or I didn't quite see what all the fuss was about. That was until the Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme hit the bloggersphere and I instantly wanted to try it. I received this as a birthday gift and I am so, so happy that I finally got to see what all the fuss is about! It's completely worthy of all the hype.

Firstly, the shade is absolutely beautiful, I have Iced Gold & that pretty much describes it perfectly. Having never really dabbled in highlights before I was concerned that it would look overly icy or frosty on the skin but it actually looks really natural and gives you that beautiful healthy glowing from within look that I crave so much. I have mostly been concentrating this on the tops of my cheekbones which instantly brightens my whole complexion but it also looks stunning down the centre of the nose, on the cupids bow and a tiny amount on the forehead if you have a drier skin type like I do.

I was expecting this to be much creamier than it is, but having used this pretty much every single day since I got it I think the formula is perfect. It's not too dry and it's not too creamy but it's super smooth and lightweight so it blends beautifully into the skin and it doesn't slip & slide around. It stays put on my skin all day so it's one of those products that I adore because I don't have to worry about touch ups throughout the day.

I absolutely love the packaging, I really like that it's a round compact & it has a huge mirror inside which is perfect. It has that same rubber feel like the NARS packaging does, which means that it can get a bit tatty looking but that's nothing that a baby wipe doesn't sort out super quickly. There's something about the packaging that makes it feel like a luxury product, it's sleek looking and it just feels nice to hold. I don't know, I'm a bit of a packaging nerd I guess, but when you're paying a fair bit of money for a product, it's nice for it to have lovely packaging too.

This has fast become a staple in my make up routine, I reach for it every single day and because you really only need a small amount each time, I can see this lasting for a really long time. At £17 it's not super cheap but I also don't think it's really expensive. It's one of those products that is completely worth every single penny and I can see myself repurchasing this for as long as they make it!

Five Things & Five Blogs I Love Friday 033.

Oh gosh, I can't quite believe how long it has been since I last sat down to write one of these posts. I can certainly say it has been far too long.

One. The 'little diamond' necklace from Rust Jewellery. 

Every single item in this store is perfect, absolutely perfect. This necklace in particular is just lovely, it's the perfect dainty & elegant piece that would look stunning with any outfit. As the years go by, my love for classic jewellery pieces increases and there is no other word that describes this necklace as well as perfect does. It's beautiful! 

Two. The 30 Day Shred. 

I feel like I can put this in a things I love post right now, because as of yet I haven't started it. I remember when everyone was talking about this around a year ago and I think on almost every post I commented saying, 'ooh I really must try this out!' I never got around to it, until now. I've been getting a little tubby in recent months, various things have been getting me down and I did what I always do in times like that, I reach for the cake. These negative things have left my life now and I'm feeling happier than ever, so I'm using this opportunity to finally improve my fitness levels because it's just not cool for a twenty three year old to be as unfit as I am! I know that Jillian is going to kick my butt, however I'm oddly excited for the DVD to arrive! I have chosen the 30 day shred specifically because it's a 30 day plan, so I'm hoping I'll feel guilty about missing a day and stick to it properly. Without a rigid structure I know I won't keep going with it. I'm terrible! Hopefully I won't injure myself!

Three. Etsy. 

Over the past week or so I've been spending a lot of time browsing Etsy because I'm looking to set up my own little photographic print shop & I thought it would be good to do a little bit of market research. I'm blown away by how many amazingly talented and creative people there are out there really making the most of their gifts. It's so wonderful and so inspiring to see people doing exactly what they love to do. I hope that one day I can be even half as successful as some of the sellers on Etsy!

Four. This wonderful linocut print.

Finding the perfect artwork for the walls of your house is a lot harder than I first imagined it to be. There are so many wonderful artists making such lovely prints, that it can often be hard to choose! Sometimes though, when you first lay your eyes on something, you just fall in love and that is what I have done with this print. It just makes me smile!

5. This incredible Teddy Bear Lamp & This stunning World Traveler Clock.

Urban Outfitters is full of gorgeous home wear and I often find myself having a little browse. These are both items that I have completely fallen in love with, especially the clock! I saw it in person in a John Lewis store a couple of weeks ago and it's equally as stunning in real life!

Mid Week Wishlist #4.

1. Love Moschino always always always have super cute & fun yet classy accessories that I fall in love with and this little Cow Box Clutch is no exception! I mean just look at their little faces, too cute! If I had a spare £145 and a place to wear this, I'd snap it up in a second!

2. We all know by now what a sucker I am for blush, and when a blush has a pretty pattern embossed on it, you can bet that I will want it. Paul & Joe is a brand that has incredible packaging and I am in love with this A Mid Summers Night blush in the shade Nymph which is described as a pop of pink colour. Yeah, I just love it, there are no other words!

3. My first foray into Figs & Rouge lip balms came courtesy of last months GlossyBox & I'm now lusting after more scents. The Rambling Rose scent/flavour is gorgeous & so moisturising and lovely, but now I have my eye on the Wild Cherry scent. Anything cherry flavoured I am guaranteed to love, mmm cherries!

4. I browse the New-In section of the Topshop website on a fairly regular basis for no other reason than to lust over the pretty clothes & I know I'm not alone in doing this, come on, own up! As usual, there were so many things that caught my eye. The stand out piece for me at the moment is this gorgeous apricot coloured Ariya skirt by the brand Goldie. It's quite pricey & I'm not sure I'd ever buy it but I adore it. The colour is perfect and the high-low hem line is so nice! A pet peeve of mine though are items that are dry-clean or hand wash only, grrr!

5. It's no secret that I'm on a huge Topshop make up kick at the moment, you'll know if you've seen my last two posts which were both mini reviews on items from the range I'm currently loving! I can't get over how lovely the lipsticks are and when I was in the store I had a hard time choosing which shades I wanted. The shade Tease is described as a Barbie Pink and I'm wanting me some of that for the summer time. I think I'll always be all about the pink shades when it comes to make up, for some reason I just find they work better on my skin tone that more coral shades. I also love the name Tease!

6. Another Topshop Lipstick shade I'm lusting after is Mischief which is described as a Bright Red. I don't own a true bright red shade, the closest I've got currently is Revlon Cherries in the Snow which is a lot more of a bright pink, and lately I've been really lusting after one. I think I'll save this purchase until I no longer have pink hair because I'm not sure how well the two will go together! None the less, Mischief looks stunning & I imagine the formula is really lovely too!

7. Another Topshop item I'm lusting over at the moment are these super cute pink Vectra4 Canvas Studded Slippers. Gosh, they're just so adorable! I have a bit of a thing for canvas shoes, they just remind me of summer holidays and day trips from when I was younger. These are a little edgier that I usually go for, I'm very safe when it comes to fashion but I think these would look lovely paired with a pretty summer floral dress!

8. For my birthday, my wonderful boyfriend bought me the Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow cream highlight and it's pretty safe to say that I'm now in love with highlighters. I cannot believe I have never really owned or used one before, I have been missing out big time! I have always seen amazing reviews for NARS Albatross highlight powder and I would absolutely love to try it. It seems to give a much more intense look/shine than the Jemma Kidd & the gold sheen just looks amazing. This will be my next NARS purchase without a doubt!

9. How did I not know that Dainty Doll had a cream blush range?! They all have super cute names but the shade that appeals to me the most is called Orange County Girl. Perhaps it's because I will always love the TV show, The O.C and this reminds me of that, but the description says it's a nude shade that lifts features & adds definition. I'm all about the lifting of features and creating definition! I know, I know, I definitely don't need any more blushers but this one does look super lovely!

I thought I was over buying make up but my wishlist this week seems to say otherwise!

Make Up: Topshop Cream Blush in Prime Time.

Topshop has very quickly become one of my favourite make up brands. The packaging is super cute, the quality is wonderful, the prices are amazingly affordable and the core collection is always evolving ensuring each seasons hottest colours are incorporated. I almost said trendy there. Oh how I hate the word trendy, it's like the word moist, it makes me cringe!

Topshop Prime Time cream blush. (£6)

As soon as I spied this blush in the shade Prime Time on the Topshop make up stand I knew it had to be mine. I used to have Neon Rose in my collection but I had to part with it in a blog sale because I couldn't quite make the intense coral colour work for me. The formula however was one of my absolute favourites so I was excited to find a shade that would suit my complexion a little more.

Prime Time is described on the website as simply a pink shade but it reality it is so much more than that. It is a beautifully pigmented intense, almost hot pink shade that blends super easily into the skin so you can apply lightly for a sheer wash of colour, or use a slightly heavier hand for a more statement look. I can see this working for so many different skin tones depending on the brush used to apply, so if you're very fair like I am, you don't have to fear the china doll look; a stipple brush & a light hand gives a super pretty light flush. The cream to powder formulation means that it will also work for so many different skin types too.

At only £6 each, these blushes are so incredibly affordable, and quality wise, I would easily put these on par with some of the more expensive cream blushes I have tried. I'll definitely be popping back to have a look at the other shades available! I also still can't get over the super cute packaging, it looks so lovely sat on my dressing table!

Make Up: Topshop Whimsical Lipstick.

As I was having a wander around Topshop last week I spotted the make up section and couldn't resist having a little look. After a few minutes my hands were covered in swatches and honestly, I could have quite easily bought one of everything! There was one particular lipstick I had been hearing a lot of good things about and it has the cutest name ever, so I quickly popped it into my basket. I am of course, talking about Whimsical!

Topshop Whimsical Lipstick. (£8)

Topshop Whimsical lipstick is described on the website as a pinky nude but on my skin tone this is the most perfect bright pastel peachy pink shade for spring and summer. The formulation is lovely, it has almost a satin finish on the lips, it feels super creamy and it glides on nicely. I bought two much brighter Topshop lipstick shades at the same time as Whimsical and I find those give a slightly more even colour pay off because they are more intense colours. Without a good lip balm underneath, Whimsical tends to highlight any dry areas on my lips but honestly, it's not overly noticeable and I did expect it because it's quite a light shade. Aside from the amazing colour & pigmentation, the thing I love the most about this lipstick is that it doesn't feel drying at all. A lot of matte shades I have tried in the past have been really waxy and difficult to work with but Whimsical is just a dream in comparison.

I have been putting a generous amount of the Figs & Rouge Rambling Rose lip balm ♦ on a couple of minutes before applying Topshop Whimsical lipstick and this allows the colour to glide on super easily and evenly. I then blot slightly before applying another layer of Whimsical to give a slightly more matte finish to the lips & to really get the full intensity of the colour. As the lip balm sinks into my lips, the true velvet/matte finish to the lipstick becomes more apparent without clinging to dry areas and looking patchy.

This is one of those shades very much in the same colour family as Barry M Lip Paint in 147 & Illamasqua Obey lipstick. The Barry M shade is slightly darker and more coral toned but the formula of Topshop Whimsical is so much nicer and easier to apply. If you're after a shade like Illamasqua Obey but slightly lighter then Whimsical is definitely the shade for you. Whimsical also isn't as matte as Obey is so it could be easier to work with if you have especially dry lips like I do!

Topshop make up is so affordable for the quality, and with it being Topshop, they have some beautiful on trend colours in stock all of the time. I have no qualms in saying that this lipstick is easily on par with the quality of the MAC lipsticks that I have tried, but the best part is that it's only £8! I have no doubt that I'll be going back to Topshop very soon to pick up some more shades!
