McVitie's Breakfast Biscuits

I’m slightly ashamed to admit that breakfast time in sailboat land was pretty much non-existent. Don’t get me wrong, I love breakfast food and I’ll happily munch on pancakes, a veggie fry up or toast & jam at any time of day, just not in the mornings when I always opt for those extra 15 minutes in bed and then spend the next twenty minutes frantically dashing around trying to put together an appropriate outfit and slap on some make up when all I really want to do is wear pyjamas all day and leave my hair in a top knot resembling a pineapple on the top of my head!

Skipping breakfast isn’t good for you, I know this, yet I still did it for years and then I wondered why I had no energy and ended up stuffing my face come lunchtime, usually with one too many unhealthy things! Thanks to the new McVitie's Breakfast Biscuits I’m not stood at the bus stop freezing my you-know-what off with a grumpy face at 7am and a growly stomach, but instead stood munching on something that tastes yummy with a strong cup of tea in a travel cup I didn’t even know I owned, feeling much better!

Admittedly I was a little sceptical that 4 biscuits would keep me full until lunchtime, but I was proved wrong, they do. And they actually taste really nice, even better when dunked into a good cup of tea or mushed up & eaten with yoghurt (it tastes nicer than it sounds!)! There are a few different flavours to choose from, which is nice because variety is always a good thing and I’m looking forward to trying the sultana & cinnamon particularly. You can find out more by following @McVitBreakfast on Twitter and over on the McVitie's Facebook page including hints and tips for how to conquer the morning battle ground!
Thank you McVitie's for saving breakfast for me, I appreciate it!

  6. I haven't tried these, but I really need to do something about my lack of breakfast. I swim before work every day and then go striaght there so I never have time to eat breakfast, even though I know I really should.

  7. Oooh no dunking should be banned in my book lol! It makes me feel....urgh. I couldn't function without breakfast and if it's a mad dash to sling something down my neck, then in winter I opt for porridge and in the summer cereal, otherwise I love a long leisurely brekkie of either blueberries pancakes or a fry-up when I get the time. I would eat these McVities's biscuits as a mid morning snack though!

  8. And eat them, too! If I don't have time for a proper meal in the mornings, I just grab a pack out of a carton, brew myself a cup of coffee and am ready to go! They are really filling and don't taste as sweet as most breakfast biscuits! Yum!

  11. I have the same cup :) I'm just like you, I will give up on everything to have longer sleep. Breakfast is always the thing I somehow miss, although I LOVE food. Need to give this a go, will make my life easier. xo

  13. I can't imagine myself going through my day without breakfast - I'm the kind of person that likes to wake up at least 2 hours before I have to leave so that I can take my sweet time x) But of course there's days when I want that extra hour and a half of sleep, so I need to have a packaged breakfast like this.

  14. These sound really good! I always eat breakfast - I'm in the habit of it, and generally feel hungry enough for it even at 7am - but these would be really good for me early morning gym days, when I've got to eat breakfast quickly before starting work. Love the sound of the sultana & cinnamon ones! x

  18. I grew up on McVities, but they're nearly impossible to find in the States (I hope to find some here in Canada though). I sometimes skip breakfast, and it's very bad, I know... :(
Thanks for dropping by on my blog,

  19. I used to be exactly the same with missing breakfast but I've started eating the Belvita breakfast biscuits. Didn't know McVities had any out so might give them a try for a bit of variety!

  20. I think I would find those a little boring. Whenever I get a breakfast food (eggs, muffins, cereal, yogurt) I end up eating it for a week straight. However, I would love these biscuits with me tea. That sounds like an amazing afternoon snack.
