There are a whole bunch of cute quotes with simple typeography and bold colours, which I really like. I'm going to keep hold of these and do something with them at some point, I might frame them or pop them in a collage or something...although it'll probably take me a while to get around to it. I will though, could be a nice little project for the summer!
There's also a sweet little step by step guide for how to perfect eyeliner application with really helpful, detailed photographs and a little teaser for the March box, which sounds pretty exciting to me!
|Birchbox February 2014 Edition* (£12.95)|
Inside the box is a little drawstring bag, which I think is wonderful because it looks fabulous and helps to set Birchbox apart from other subscription boxes. I think I might use this one to store sample sized products, hopefully that will encourage me to incorporate a few more of them into my daily routine and give them a good try out.
The theme this month is style. It's the time of year for London Fashion Week but I like that they're not focusing solely on the latest designer looks. I'm not particularly fashion focused and I like to try things that will fit into my everyday routine. And that's what this month is all about, so on to the products...
Beauty Protector Protect & Oil (£16 for around 100ml) Sample size product.
I believe this is a Birchbox exclusive for now, which I think is pretty exciting. It's a nourishing hair oil that battles UV rays, heat and breakage. It says it's suitable for all hair types, won't leave any stickiness and won't weigh hair down. First impressions are really good and I love the sweet scent too!
Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner (Full size retails for £12) Sample size product.
This is a product that I've heard a lot about, always wanted to try, but never got around to it. All eyeliners smudge on me throughout the day so I'm definitely interested to see if this lives up to its smudge-proof claims for me. It also says it's foolproof, which sounds good to me - hopefully I won't make a mess!
Urban Veda Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish (Full size retails for £8.99) Sample size product.
Natural products from companies who don't test on animals are always ones I love to try. This promises to gently exfoliate while superfruit (love this term, I always imagine fruits dressed as super heroes!) extracts support cell renewal. This smells so wonderful and it definitely feels like it will be a gentle exfoliator, but not be so gentle that it won't do anything. This might be my favourite product in the box this month!
Gilchrist & Soames The London Collection Shower Gel (£13.75 for 235ml) Sample size product.
Admittedly not the most exciting product in the world, but I do love trying out posh looking shower gels because I'm always interested to see if they're worth the extra money. Generally I think that super affordable shower gels do the job, but this one is wonderful! It smells incredible, really refreshing and there are no parabens or mineral oil in the formulation.
Leighton Denny Nail Polish (£11) Full size product.
This is a beautiful bright pink, really fun nail polish shade that rounds off the box this month perfectly I think. I've tried a couple of polishes from this brand before and they've been really easy too apply and two fast drying coats is all they usually need for an opaque finish. It's a lovely colour for around Valentines Day and I can already tell I'll be wearing this a lot on my toes this spring and summer too!
Lifestyle Extra - Green & Black's Dark Chocolate
As soon as I had taken this picture my mama swiped this off me. I'm beginning to think she has a bit of a dark chocolate addiction...!
