Stila Colour Me Pretty Palette!

What better way to start a Monday than by blabbering on about my favourite make up palette of the moment for a few minutes. Today was one of those mornings when I desperately wanted to hit snooze a few hundred times but unfortunately things don't tidy themselves and essays don't magically appear from nowhere. But I can definitely put those things off for a little while...

Stila Colour Me Pretty Palette - £19.50 (Shades L-R:  Kitten, Peony, Gerbera, Rose & Petunia)

Tucked away in my make up stash is a Stila Convertible Colour in Gerbera and I would go so far as to say that it's my absolute favourite cream blush of all time, even beating my beloved Illamasqua ones. When I saw that Stila were bringing out the Colour Me Pretty Palette with five Convertible Colours inside, I knew that it would only be a matter of time before I was hitting the checkout button and happily handing over £20. I don't even mind that Gerbera is one of the shades in the palette, it's such a lovely and wearable colour that I don't mind having duplicate.

If I'm being completely honest I'm not sold on the packaging. I do like the idea of the tin and the fact it's really easy to keep clean, I just think it feels a teeny bit flimsy. But it's totally not a deal breaker for me, I still have a lot of love for this palette, it doesn't look cheap at all and I do still think it's worth every penny.

Stila Convertible Colour in Kitten.
Before it arrived this was the colour I was least excited about. I thought it might be too intense to work as a highlight shade on my skin tone but I was totally wrong. A little blended on to the tops of my cheekbones gives the prettiest glow and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it, which is nice because I wasn't expecting to love it.

Stila Convertible Colour in Peony.
Although peony doesn't look like the most exciting colour in the pan, I think it looks stunning on. It's one of those colours I would reach for either on those days where I want a really minimal, neutral look or if I was going for a beautiful smokey eye & nude lip. It's a very natural rose with a touch of brown, very reliable and very wearable.
Stila Convertible Colour in Gerbera.
Gerbera is so beautiful it looks amazing with pretty much any make up look. I reach for this on minimal make up days and on days when I really fancy wearing a bright lip and lots of mascara. It just seems to work, giving a hint of something and helping to sculpt my face a little, but it's never overpowering. Just beautiful.
Stila Convertible Colour in Rose.
Rose is everything I hoped it would be. To me it looks a little scary in the pan, if I saw it on a counter I wouldn't be immediately drawn to it if I didn't already know how blendable the convertible colour formula is. But this is a colour that I'm hoping I'll be able to pull off with the right look, I'm thinking a nude lip, lashings of mascara and a touch of this on the apples of my cheeks.

Stila Convertible Colour in Petunia.
If I could describe this colour in one word I would have to choose lovely. It's a beautiful blend of peach, coral and pink that I can already tell I'll be reaching for a lot during the Spring & Summer. It's the kind of colour that just makes me feel happy inside when I look at it. It's strawberry ice cream and cupcakes in a blush. Very pretty!
(L-R) Kitten, Peony, Gerbera, Rose and Petunia.
I'm not the best at swatches but I thought I would attempt them! I'm pretty warm toned so the shades will definitely look a little different on you if you have more pink in your skin, but they're all beautifully wearable and you can apply as much or as little as you want depending on how strong you like your blush to be.

One of the best parts is these work really nicely on the lips too - if you have slightly drier lips like me then make sure you pop on a good lip balm underneath, but they make wonderful lip colours & they feel really comfortable to wear too.

If you like cream blush then I think you need this palette - it's a beauty!

Have you tried any of the Stila Convertible Colours before?
Love, Jennie
xoxo

  10. I love Peony, I have the individual blush and I think it' a great A/W shade. Kitten is lovely too, I bought that individually but it smashed. I agree with you re: the palette, does look a bit flimsy from the photos. xx

  18. These look like such beautiful, versatile colours. I always tend to forget about cream blushes but it makes sense when they can double as a lip colour.

  22. It's so rare for me to actually like the look of a blush palette, but this is gorgeous! It's a bit pricey for me considering how rarely I use blush, but I definitely think I'll be looking for this to check out :)

  23. I would love to try a couple of the Stile convertible colours! I swatched a couple of them some months ago in Preston but I couldn't afford them at the moment.
The palette is actually a good deal: what prevents me from purchasing it is that I fear for expiration date of cream products. Bit paranoid I know!
