For a really long time I found eBay a little overwhelming. I have a suspicion that you can type in almost anything in the world that you’d really like and it’ll be there, just waiting for you to find it. That’s amazing. And it’s the eclectic nature and insane diversity that constantly draws me, and millions of other people, in. It’s like an Aladdin’s cave, a constant treasure trove of lovely things waiting for new homes.
The new eBay collections feature just launched and whoever came up with the idea for it deserves a pat on the back! I think it adds so much to the community feel of the website, allowing anyone the ability to browse through (and follow!) someone’s collection of things they really like. There are already so many inspiring collections to look through and it really is so much fun starting your own! A couple of my collections made their way on to the homepage last week. It was truly bizarre and pretty incredible to click over to have a little browse and see my own face looking back at me. I’m so pleased they featured my favourite collections too!
It’s no secret that I love cameras. In fact I think that’s probably my most searched-for thing on eBay. I could very easily get carried away because there are always so many pages to look through and it’s a lot of fun scrolling through and seeing things I’ve never come across before. The vintage film cameras always particularly attract my attention because they’re usually built so beautifully. I was thrilled to see my Snap Happy collection trending, it’s my most followed too so I’m trying to update it as often as I can!
I also recently discovered the book section and now I think I’m hooked. In fact I’ve already purchased a few ex-library editions of books I’ve always wanted to read. And I like that they have that little bit of history attached to them. I like the idea of them having had their own journey before finding their way on to my bookshelf. Of course new books are wonderful too and there are a fair few on my wish list. I’m having so much fun updating my Library collection and it’s only a matter of time before a few of the editions on there find their way on to my real life book shelf.
I also couldn’t resist creating a few beauty collections! You definitely need to be careful when purchasing make up products on eBay, especially higher end brands. But there are a lot of reputable sellers that allow us to purchase products we’d really like to try that perhaps aren’t available where we live and I really like that. I think my favourite make up collection I’ve put together so far is the one entitled All About Blush. You know me, I love blush – they’re just so pretty to look at!
What do you think of this new feature? Have you explored some collections yet?
