Oh this book. This book. It's wonderful and sweet and charming and beautiful and relatable and perfect. Cath is a complete delight. There were lots of tears shed. Happy tears. Because some things felt so familiar. And because...ahh it's just lovely.
""Seriously. Look at you. You’ve got your shit together, you’re not scared of anything. I’m scared of everything. And I’m crazy. Like maybe you think I’m a little crazy, but I only ever let people see the tip of my crazy iceberg. Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy and socially inept, I’m a complete disaster."
I read it on a Sunday a couple of weeks ago. It had been a bad day until I let myself climb into my duvet fort with a mug full of hot tea and escape. Escape into a world that wasn't my own, but one I really wanted to be a part of, if only for a few short hours. And there I stayed until I turned the very last page. This book is like a warm, lingering hug. You know the ones that make you feel safe and loved? Exactly like that.

This book is going to be the basis of my final essay this term for University. Choosing a Children's Literature module is the best decision I've made in terms of my education thus far. Literature for young people right now is dynamic and exciting. This is a special book. Heartbreaking, but very special and incredibly important.

  1. I recently finished reading Fan Girl too and adored it. I think I fell for Levi a little bit! What a sweetheart!

I'm currently reading a book called Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Book Store by Robin Sloan. It's a bit bizarre at the moment, but it's definitely caught my curiosity so I'm going to keep at it x

  6. I just read a different Rainbow Rowell book which I've been thinking about reviewing, I'm currently reading a new anthology of John Keats' love poems and a biography of Jimi Hendrix (which I've read before), I slammed my way through about 8 fiction books last month and wanted a break for a bit. 10. Aw these both sound like beautiful, poignant reads for their individuality and I'm now intrigued and very much would love to get stuck into them both (: I have another Rainbow Rowell novel on my shelf, Attachments which I must get round to starting-- I have a whole stack of books piling up haha!

At the moment I'm reading 'Things I want my Daughters to know' by Elizabeth Noble, as her other novels always are, this is really enjoyable xo

  15. I am currently embarking Philippa Gregory's 'The Red Queen.' I am not sure how I am going to go about reading a few of her books, but I bought a few that were suggested...chronologically. I think, even if I read them out of order, I may still be able to enjoy the stories. BUT, I have not heard of 'Fan Girl'...WHERE HAVE I BEEN!?!??!?!
