Mark starts his new job today, in fact as I type he'll probably just be arriving and I'm experiencing a severe case of second-hand nerves on his behalf. On the plus side he's not nervous at all, so I feel like I'm helping out in some strange way. To take my mind off it I'm here to talk about some of my favourite things from the past week!
Superdrug Chocolate Orange Self-Heating Mask | 99p
One of these was included in a parcel of sleepover goodies I received a couple of weeks ago and I loved it so I had to buy another one, which I'm saving for one of those days when I just need to relax. There's nothing out-of-this-world amazing about it and it doesn't make any fancy claims. It's just nice, you know?
Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser | £23
This is my second jar of this and to be honest the main reason I repurchased it is because of the gorgeous orangey scent, which really is a little bit ridiculous. I do also like how light it feels and how hydrating it still is despite its light texture. It's pretty perfect for the warmer months and although I'm not sure I'll buy it again once I've used up this jar, my reasons for spending are sometimes quite ridiculous so who knows - maybe I won't be able to resist the scent again!
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Redhead
The only reason this is anywhere close to being finished is because on the day I bought it, I dropped it & it completely smashed. I was so annoyed that I put it in a drawer and barely touched it until a week or so ago. It's a really beautiful bronze-pink-neutral colour that I can only really get away with wearing in the warmer months so I'd better make the most of it while I can.
Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum* | £4.49
This was in a Glossybox* a little while back and I had forgotten how much I really liked it, until last week when I rediscovered it. I'm still really into neutral make up looks and this gives me the kind of lip colour I really love. It's nude but without being too light or too pigmented. It's also really smooth and a little glossy. Pretty much everything I want in a lip product although I'm not overly fond of the scent/taste - it's a little too artificial, but that doesn't stop me applying copious amounts to my lips several time a day so I can't hate it that much!
The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir who got trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe by Romain Puertolas* | £12.99
A fast paced & slightly silly novel that tells the tale of a Fakir who finds himself trapped in an Ikea wardrobe. It has a slightly more serious heart that is just thought-provoking enough for it not to be simply a summertime, forgettable read. An unlikely hero, even more unlikely events, and a lot of smiles. We really do just want to live the best life we possibly can and this book was a nice reminder of that. It was published last week in the UK and if you're looking for something quick & that will make you smile, I recommend having a look into the Ikea Fakir.
Is there anything you have particularly loved over the past week?
