Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm | £3.69
I think this may be my favourite lip balm of all time. Although sometimes I can change my mind quicker than Ralphie can sense when I'm heading to the treat box. And that's insanely quick. It's almost like he has a treat sense. But anyway, that's besides the point. What was the point? Oh yes, Burt's Bees lip balm is the bomb dot com. Yes I did just say that. No I'm not sorry. Well okay, I'm a bit sorry.
So Susan nail polish in Smurfette* | £6.95
So Susan sent me a little parcel of goodies and aside from the blush, I think this nail polish is my favourite. I'm currently sporting this beautiful teal blue on my toes (I would show you but...feet!) and it's the perfect bright for summer that makes a change from the pinks that I usually gravitate towards. The finish is really interesting, with one coat it's almost translucent, sort of a bit like a stained glass window. Two coats gives an opaque colour with a matte-ish finish. I'm not being very successful at describing this, am I?
Benefit Hoola bronzer & Model Co Glow Baby Glow Bronzer*
So I haven't worn blush in over a week. Yep, it's true. Crazy, right? I love blush! I saw a picture somewhere of a beautiful girl with the most perfect glowing skin, a nude glossy lip & lots of bronzer. I promptly started doing my make up similarly and I love it. It's so easy and low maintenance. My favourite!
I've been using Benefit Hoola as I usually would, to attempt to fake me some definition in my moon face, and then I've been using a fluffy brush to dust a little of the Model Co bronzer over my cheeks in place of blush. It's love. And it's also enormous so I'm fairly sure I have enough bronzer to last me, and potentially my entire village, forever!
* * *
No book favourite this week because I haven't finished one. I started Orlando by Virginia Woolf, thought I'd love it, but I just can't get into it. It's funny how things turn out like that. I thought I really wouldn't like Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, but it has become one of my all-time favourites. I'll go back to Orlando in a little while.
And I finally picked up The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton after a year of being a little intimidated by it's size; at over 800 pages it's enormous. I'm just over half way through and OH MY GOSH, IT'S AMAZING! I'm now kicking myself for not reading it sooner and I don't want it to end, it's going by too quickly!
In celebration of a bloody amazing book I've finally put up my first proper post over on The Book Journal. I'm so excited to have a place to waffle about books. I'm so excited to have rediscovered a love for reading over the past year. It's all thanks to my last University tutor. Her enthusiasm was infectious and I don't think I'll ever be able to thank her enough! Not even an over exaggeration. Books are the best!
