Wishing #1

+ Great Plains Potter Scarf
One of the reasons I love the autumn & winter so much is because I have a bit of a thing for knitted scarves. I also really like stripes so this might just be perfect. It looks especially cosy too.

+ Ginsberg is God perfume by Bella Freud
Allen Ginsberg's work is part of my upcoming Twentieth Century Literature class and I'm wondering if I can excuse the purchase of this by counting it as a study aid. You know, highlighters, notebooks, pens ... and a very expensive perfume that sounds utterly divine. Could work, right?

+ Ginsberg is God candle
Along a similar line, I wonder if I burned this candle as I studied it would give me some extra inspiration? Although to be honest it's so expensive I probably wouldn't ever light it. Just admire it. All the time.

+ The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
I love the marketing schpiel for this novel. It's described as kaleidoscopic, a chronicle of our self-devouring times and a meditation on morality. I mean, I honestly have no idea what it's actually about, but it sounds bloody brilliant!

Has anything caught your eye recently?

  10. I'm with you on the knitted scarf! I love how colorful it is, but not too in your face either. We'll just say that the expensive perfume puts you in a good mood for studies, therefore making it more effective ;)

  16. Haha, you should buy all those Bella Freud pieces and then write a letter to your department explaining that they're academic expenses and you should get a grant for them! Poetic inspiration comes in many shapes and forms, after all...;) Oh my gosh, soooo excited for The Bone Clocks - apparently it's one of the best works on the Booker longlist, and that cover is divine - I am definitely, definitely one to judge a book by its cover.
