Favourite Make Up Products Under £10!

When I was compiling my favourite beauty products under £5 post there were lots of affordable things I wanted to mention but couldn't because they were just over £5, so I'm back again with my favourite make up treats that are over £5 but under £10 each. There are some I won't be repurchasing because they aren't cruelty free, but I still stand by the fact they are brilliant and are at least as good as more expensive alternatives.

Lily Lolo Blush in Ooh La La | £8.49
Lily Lolo is one of my absolute favourite make up brands. Their mineral blushes are pigmented, finely milled and a dream to apply. A little can be applied to give a hint of colour, or they can be built up for a more statement look without ever looking cakey or too powdery, even on my very dry skin. I only have one shade, Ooh La La, which is a matte medium pink, but I must admit that I have my eye Beach Babe, a matte peach, because it looks like it would be the perfect accompaniment to a summer bronze look.

Lily Lolo Lip Gloss in English Rose | £7.99
My all time favourite lip products are the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors, which unfortunately aren't cruelty free so I won't be repurchasing. The Lily Lolo glosses aren't exactly the same, they're a little thinner in texture so don't quite have that 'perfecting' quality, but they do have a fairly similar finish in terms of shine and how light & non-sticky they are. The sweet chocolate scent also isn't a million miles away from the vanilla caramel of the Clarins perfectors. Pretty lovely all round.
Maybelline Fit Me Powder | £5.99
I must have been through at least three of these. The colour is perfect, it's got such a light texture and the mirror in the compact makes it perfect for on-the-go. It's not cruelty free so I'm not sure what I'm going to replace it with just yet, but the Soap & Glory powder might be a contender.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge | £5.99
My base products always seem to apply best with my fingers, but for some reason I really don't like the feeling of applying foundation that way. But the next best thing to fingers is this sponge. The flat side is perfect for covering large areas like my cheeks and the pointed ends ensure foundation around my nose and eyes is properly blended. Giving such a natural finish this is a staple in my daily make up routine.
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation | £6.99
Finding an affordable foundation that matches properly can feel like an almost impossible task. The lightest shade in almost everything is a shade or two too dark, but Match Perfection came to my rescue last year when I needed to try something different. Giving a light/medium coverage with a slightly dewy finish this is a really lovely foundation that feels much more expensive than £7!

Pixi Lip Balm | £8
I need to explore more Pixi products. Their products don't strike me as anything extraordinary, but everything I've tried has worked so well. I love a good tinted lip balm and this is definitely a good one & they have a nude colour in the range that I'm very tempted by...
MeMeMe Coral Blossom Cheek & Lip Tint | £5.95
Having a little root around in my make up collection has led me to rediscover this little beauty and I'm looking forward to wearing it with lots of bronzer this summer. Liquid blushes are something I find a little trickier to work with than powders, but I love how seamlessly they blend into the skin just leaving a hint of colour without looking like I'm wearing a lot of make up.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer | £7
Similarly to Pixi, Soap & Glory make up is something I need to explore more because I love everything I've tried so far. This colour, Charm Offensive, doesn't look particularly remarkable in the tube, but it's an incredibly wearable natural colour and the formula is wonderfully smooth.
Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara | £10
This doesn't give my lashes a ridiculous amount of volume or length, but it does give me fluttery, very pretty lashes that don't look or feel crunchy. It doesn't flake or smudge during the day and it does do a pretty good job of holding a curl, which is always a good thing!

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Concealer | £5.49
This really reminds me of Benefit boi-ing concealer. They both give excellent coverage, blend easily, and come in a shade fair enough for my complexion. This difference? The Seventeen one is so much more affordable!

Burt's Bees Lip Shine | £6.99
Squeezy tube glosses are so practical for throwing in a make up bag and applying on-the-go. This shade gives a slight hint of colour and a whole lot of glossiness. Lovely!

What is your must-have affordable make up item?

  2. These all look great! My affordable must-have make up is the Collection 2000 eyeliner felt tip! It's about £4, but it does the job!

  3. i'd definitely recommend the soap & glory one heck of a blot powder as your replacement. i picked it up when i was in the UK last year and i'm so sad that we can't get S&G makeup products in Australia. for some reason we have their bodycare range but none of the makeup and it sucks! also i used to love that rimmel foundation and used it all the time for lightening up other foundations that were a bit too dark too but i haven't used it in ages now, i'll have to bring it out and give it a whirl again soon.

  5. I really like that Seventeen concealer too! I really only buy budget makeup these days so the Benefit one was a little out of my price range; I'm happy that there are more affordable options available which are just as good! xxx
