Summer, Monday & Pulled Muscles.

What an absolute joy it has been to have days full of sunshine recently. It feels like it's been a ridiculously long winter, so I think we all deserve a nice summer. How I long for those long, hazy, warm afternoons with the scent of smokey barbecues mixed with blooming flowers in the air.

Monday used to be my least favourite day of the week, but my mid-year resolution is to embrace them as much as possible. The beginning of a week brings with it lots of new tasks, but the feeling of crossing things off the to-do list is a joy we all all share in, I think.

Although I'm starting this Monday off feeling a little sore. I've started exercising again, mostly only because some of my clothes are getting a little tight (it's those winter months spent in leggings - living in stretchy clothes is a slippery slope!). And I'm really only telling you this so that I stick with it, and you can call me out if I stop. Anyway, I've discovered that gone are the days when a really short warm up would suffice. Note to self: stretch properly next time!

*waddles downstairs for a cup of tea*

Happy Monday!
Did you have a good weekend?

xoxo

  5. The after workout waddle is something I'm experiencing at the moment too, I always think a short warmup is fine as well then I learn the hard way. x

  7. Pulled muscles are the worst - there's nothing quite like them to put you off exercising! Good luck with this week's goals, Jennie :)

  8. Happy Monday Jennie! It was so glorious yesterday. My bf and I went out for a pizza and we sat outside in the little beer garden type thing, I'm glad we can sit outside again! xxx

  10. How you feeling today feels exactly the same as myself.... even down to the pulled muscle (in my shoulder) from not stretching properly! But I'm still trying to be cheery with it as I tick things off my to-do list. As you say vital on a Monday.

Hope you have a lovely rest of the week :)

  13. I'm also so glad that it finally looks as though summer might finally be here! I love your idea to embrace the start of each week and I can definitely understand the whole stretchy clothing'extra weight issue - I seriously need to get out more and do some more exercise!!

  14. I had never heard anyone verbalize it so well! Living in stretchy clothes IS a slippery slope. OMG :( My jeans don't fit anymore.

  15. It was light in Bournemouth at 2230 last night. That is just incredible and makes me so happy! Good luck with the exercising. I have quite a strict routine these days so feel ok about myself, although am still nursing a food baby from last nights thai dinner!

  16. I'm not usually a Monday person either, but this past semester I've scheduled it so that I only have one class on Mon/Wed, three on Tues/Thurs, none on Fri, and it worked out very well :D *calling you out for a daily reminder to exercise if you haven't already!* -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

  17. I'm horribly overweight at the moment so waking up every morning with aching muscles as I furiously try to become my normal size! I did blog about it a few months ago but probably ought to write a catch-up now. I agree, winter clothing of jumpers and leggings is very forgiving to a few extra hot chocolates and the like! X
