Birchbox | The Make A Splash Edition July 2015

Barely Prep, Blot & Blend Sponge | £5.99
Balance Me Congested Skin Serum | £16
Unani Aloe Vera Gel | £15
Benefit Dream Screen | £25
Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter Luminizer Gel | £8.95
POP Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Peach Parfait | £15.50

This month's Birchbox* goodies are in a bag instead of a box, and I must say it's a nice change. The bag is actually pretty cute, there's a little pocket in there, and I believe there are four possible colours; coral, turquoise, yellow and pink. The contents are similarly impressive and very summer appropriate.

The congested skin serum is something I'm very intrigued to try, I'm always open to anything that might help keep my chin demons in check and the aloe vera gel is always useful to have around. Sunscreen is another must-have. I've not tried Dream Screen before and I'm not sure I'll get along with the matte finish it promises, but I'm willing to give it a good try.

The sponge is an interesting one, designed to smooth on skincare and primers rather than foundation and concealer. I've never used anything other than my fingers for my skincare and I'm a little wary that the sponge will absorb more moisturiser than it would apply, even when wet. But we'll see!

Finally it's always nice to receive some make up products in beauty boxes. The Luminizer gives a beautiful glow, it looks like it will be the perfect finishing touch to a summer make up look. And I haven't opened the Eyeshadow Trio because I'm not much of an eyeshadow wearer. I'm going to include it in a little summer giveaway that will be up in a couple of days because I'd much rather it went to someone who will appreciate it more than I will!

What do you think of this month's Birchbox?

  9. I'm intrigued by the sponge, mainly because of the shape. I always use a sponge for applying my foundation because I can't get on with brushes or my fingers, and I have to say they work pretty well, and makes it super quick to blend. You just have to wash them really well.
