Sailboat is a place for me, Jennie May, to talk about my life and my loves so you can be assured that anything I say is my own, honest opinion. If I love something then I’ll say so and equally, if I dislike something I’ll be sure to let you know!
From September 2011 any items or products I have received for free or bought with a gift card/discount code provided for me by a company or their PR will be marked with a diamond (♦) or an asterisk (*) because I think it’s the easiest and quickest way to be completely honest & upfront. Previously always stated items received for free in the body of each applicable blog post but I understand that those not reading the whole post thoroughly occasionally missed this.
I offer a small amount of sponsorship advertising each month that is available to anyone (fellow bloggers, etsy shop owners, indie companies, photographers etc) providing I feel my readers would be interested in finding out more about them. You can read more about sponsorship here.
Some links on sailorjennie.com are affiliate links (for example, I use Skimlinks, a site I would wholeheartedly recommend, and The Book Depository) & this in no way dictates the pages I choose to link to; I always try to search for the cheapest or most accessible website for each product I'm mentioning in a post. Occasionally I may put up a banner, which would be in the sidebar of my blog, with a click through link containing affiliate data. I will only add such banners to my page if I feel that the company/campaign is a good fit with Sailboat. These aspects in no way affect my honesty, I have said it before, I would never mention anything I don't wholeheartedly recommend.
As of June 2012, Sailboat is part of the Glam Media collective. You may notice a couple of new adverts on my site which will be coming from Glam Media. I will always work hard to ensure that these adverts don't disturb the overall aesthetic of my blog, and instead blend seamlessly with my content. I chose Glam specifically because I feel that their adverts aren't intrusive and contain information about brands that are widely recognisable and this is the first step I'm taking to help Sailboat blossom and grow.
