I spotted this dress in Primark a couple of weeks ago and I knew I had to have it. I actually think it's partly responsible for my little obsession with birds at the moment because it's just so adorable. For me this weekend is all about relaxing. Selling a house is super stressful, we've had a lot of viewings over the last couple of days and it's like living in a goldfish bowl having all these strangers poking about. This whole process is so bittersweet for me, this is my childhood home but it's already starting to feel like it's not mine anymore. Things haven't been perfect here for a long time but despite that I just know there are going to be tears on moving day! I've certainly learned that in order to change your life for the better there are difficult decisions you have to make & difficult things you have to do.
This dress has become my new lounge dress. You know when you're spending the day at home and you don't want to really get dressed but you don't want to sit in your pj's all day? This is what I reach for on those days. It's not that I don't want to wear this outside, I so do, but I have an abnormally long body and short legs so it's obscenely short on me. I could maybe get away with it with leggings but I'm not sure. We'll see!
Illamasqua Satin Primer.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.
Benefit Boi-ing Concealer.
Illamasqua Promise Cream Blush.
MAC Rose Ole Highlight Powder.
MAC Vintage Selection Paint Pot.
Collection 2000 Big Fake Mascara.
Revlon Baby Pink Lipstick.
I've been keeping my make up so simple and pretty much reaching for the same products on a daily basis. This is partly out of habit and partly because my storage is useless and I can never see what I have in my collection! I definitely need to sort that out asap. But never mind, I'm very happy with these products and I know they're working for me.Do you have a comfortable outfit you always reach for on lazy days?
xoxo

ReplyDeleteSorry I've been neglecting commenting here recently. The dress is really cute. Again, I lament the lack of Primark in the States. What do you do to your hair to get it to look that good?
ReplyDeleteBlack yoga pants, long t-shirt and a hoodie :) No pj's but as comfortable and if I happen to see anyone or have to go buy food, I'll look sporty :)
ReplyDeletei love this dress, the print is so lovely. aw we're going to move out of my childhood home this summer, trust me i'll be crying too! it is super sad, like the end of an era! on lazy days i'm just always in leggings :)xo
ReplyDeleteThis dress is very pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI moved from my chilhood home and it was so hard. I still get emotional when I pass nearby.
You must see the best part of this: it will be a new start for you. :)
On lazy days I like to take a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. :)

ReplyDeleteI love the pattern of your dress! I just wear my pajamas on lazy days :x But I really shouldn't!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore that dress! The color looks amazing with your skintone. Ooh, I'm in the same boat as you with the short-dress dilemma! Long legs are both a gift & a curse haha. Lovely post :) xo

ReplyDeleteHow do you find the Collection 2000 mascara? I keep going to buy it after seeing Pixiwoo use it but then always hesitate...is it as good as they say?
xx
lovely dress!love your hair!
ReplyDeleteOooh your dress is gorgeous! I really love bird/swallow prints, so Miu Miu esque, which is fast becoming one of my favourite designers. I hope the move goes okay Jennie, I remember moving house at home and it was awful, but I soon settled in to the new place (: xxx
ReplyDeleteThe dress is gorgeous, I would never have guessed its from Primark! Whenever I'm having a lazy day, I just stay in my pj's haha or throw on a hoody and leggings (like today!)

I love the dress, it's simple but very pretty. And your makeup is lovely and fresh. I have been loving my Illamasqua blush lately, but I realised one is not enough so have bought more!
ReplyDeleteI too have a super-long body. What is that about?! Skirts that are a normal length on everyone else are stupidly short on me. It's a curse, I tells ya!
Amazing dress! You are absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDelete@Georgina - Haha aww sorry! I really really like the mascara, apparently it dries out quite quickly but for the price it's amazing!
ReplyDelete@modniza - <3
@Michelle - Thank you lovely!
@DaintyMakeup - Haha so comfy!
@kinni - One is definitely not enough hehe! Argh I know, it's soo annoying. I'm glad someone else feels my pain lol!

love that dress
ReplyDeleteMy comfort outfit on lazy days is generally a tank, cardigan, jeans, a scarf, and then a cozy pair of slippers, mmm! Great dress, it's very cute. And a quick question - is the Boiing concealer good? I've been questioning it's potential lately!

Hey hun,
ReplyDeleteMoving is hard, I recently had to make a big decision to make my life a lot better than what it was. Moving back down to my hometown and leaving my job behind was hard but was 100% right in everyway.
I hope everything goes ok for you my lovely -hugs-
The dress looks lovely :)

Your hair is always so stunning! I love that dress! Would look great with some leggings! Definitely try it with leggings. Is it short sleeves? Looks like it would make a great beach dress!
ReplyDelete@Kirsty - It's super pretty :)
ReplyDelete@Aimee - I really like it but I think it's a bit pricey for the amount you get. MAC studio finish is cheaper and you get more in the pot I think!
@Half Dressed - Sounds super comfy!
@Lizzy - Definitely to, it's a bargain!
@Emma - Thank you! Thanks for following, I love your blog lots!
@Bubbliecheeks - Thank you sweetie, same to you!
@Emma - Thank you sweets, I definitely will! Yes, it does have short sleeves. It's going to be so perfect in the summer I think!
xoxo
I love this dress so very much so, the colour and print are both fabulous xx
ReplyDeleteAwhh i saw this the other week! I really liked it but i thought it look really strange at the sides. It looks so nice on you though, better than on me for sure! xo
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so pretty! I have an obsession with birds too, pretty much have to have anything that has birds on it. I'm probably going to go and raid primark looking for it ha.
ReplyDeleteMy comfy outfit is usually a big shirt or a dress with a huge cardigan.
Try not to get too bogged down in all the moving stuff. It must be really hard but think of all the wonderful new memories you can make in a new place.
Keep up the good work on your blog. Its ace! x
Oooh I love love love the dress! Looking lovely Jennie :)
ReplyDelete@Alice - <3
ReplyDelete@Victoria - There's definitely something about it that makes it not very flattering. I like it for around the house but I'm not sure it's an outside kind of dress for me.
@Hattybell - Thank you sweets, that means a lot!
@Love Hearts and Crosses - <3
xoxo
I literally want your entire wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteWill pay for special delivery. Thanks.
