I do own quite a bit of make up, not a drastic amount, but enough to switch up my daily routine quite often. I’ve picked out my most used/favourite products that I reach for a lot so it probably works out as a pretty accurate representation of my average daily routine. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little bit scared that this is going to add up to a lot of money and if it does I know my boyfriend is going to laugh at me because I was just telling him that I don’t really spend a lot of money on make up!

Okay, so there's no escaping the fact that that’s a lot of money and my boyfriend will laugh at me for this but I’ve definitely seen worse! I’m not a big eye shadow person, I’m not good at applying it and when my eyes are open no one can really see the shadow, so I prefer to spend a little extra time and money on face products. My make up is never flawless and if you saw me in the street most days you’d never think I was a girl with a beauty blog!
Of course though, everyone's face is priceless, we're all unique after all! Have you done one of these tag posts? I’d love you to link me to them if you have because I’m nosey! Is this a lot of make up to wear on a daily basis or does it seem quite minimal to you?
xoxo
I love reading these! I didn't used to spend much on makeup, but I keep building up and building up on cheaper items that it probably equates to more than buying the essential more expensive ones.
ReplyDeleteI think what'd be best for me personally is doing a nail varnish account, I own so many and always buy more, must be worth thousands haha.
I don't think your makeup works out to too much, i've seen much highger :) and I cant beleive your makeup doesn't look flawless because it certainly does here.
xx
I'd say that sounds about right, TBH. I try not to think too much or too often about the actual cost of the makeup I own. The last time I gave it any serious thought was about eight years ago when I got my fresher's pack through from uni. You had to fill out the Endsleigh insurance booklet, and write down how much all your possessions were worth... You probably won't be surprised to hear that the value of my makeup outstripped everything else. And now I own eight more years' worth... Oh dear! :D
ReplyDeleteIts crazy when you add it up like that! I'd hate to think how much mine would be. I like to spend quite alot on base products too and I'm not a fan on eyeshadows for everyday use either, I leave that for when I'm going out etc xx
ReplyDeleteadore Revlon lipstick!!! <3
ReplyDeleteA fortune. I don't want to know, really.
ReplyDeleteMy face is probably worth about the same lol! I might have a nose through my make-up and add it all up!

I love these kinds of posts, I must do one soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good idea! Although i feel like i would just be so ashamed by the total at the end :O
ReplyDeleteI don't think you use a ton of makeup, but it's not minimal either - i think it's just the right amount! Must do this post sometime soon! xo
I love the quality of your pictures. The camera is amazing. It makes the products just look even more appealing! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your make up :-)Love the look of the Illamasqua blush I have Hussy. That Revlon lipstick looks gorgeous too. Is Boi ing really good? I may have to do a post like this. :-) xx
ReplyDeleteI did this a while ago and was shocked to find out the total cost: http://lilylipstick.blogspot.com/2011/02/how-much-does-your-face-cost.html
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd purchased that Paint Pot when it was still available...it's the prettiest shade. x
Is the boi-ing any good? Tempted but I need something to cover redness to a maximum
ReplyDeletexx
Thank you for all the comments lovelies! I wish I had the spare minutes to reply to you all individually! I'll have a look at any links you've left super soon!
ReplyDelete@Catherine & Eloise - I quite like boi-ing but I find it looks cakey on my skin if I apply too much but I do have dry skin! I think if you have an oilier skin type it would cover super well and not look like you've got a lot of make up on. It's pricey though so I'd recommend popping to a counter and having a little look!
xoxo
Oh this is an interesting tag. I must try it....or perhaps I shouldn't! lol! :) I think that's more minimal compared to what I wear so I'm afraid of what mine might amount to!
ReplyDeleteFirst off this post is so clever! I'm kinda scared to figure out what I would come too... But it might be a good thing to do!
ReplyDeleteAnd second, I would definitely have to vouch for Benefits Boi-ing. I just got it a few weeks ago, mainly for under the eyes, but I am soooo happy with it! I have oiler skin, so Jennie is very right about it not being as caky on oily skin. But it does marvels, and a tiny bit goes a long way :)
I'm almost ashamed to do mine! The liquid foundation, powder foundation and concealer I used today equals around $70. Well, I think I will try to stop spending so much on a bunch of cosmetics, never thought about this until now! xo
ReplyDeleteAww such a good idea for a post Jennie! I loved this :) So wierd, I was actually thinking the other day if I sold every personal possession I own (makeup, clothes, cd's, dvds, electrical equipment) at their face value... how much money would it add up to. xx
ReplyDeleteoh, honestly, I don't use any make-up... allergies . My face gets all red an itchy and my eyes all teary when I use it. :) x
ReplyDeleteReally great post!I think most of my money would be in the lipstick and lip gloss area as I'm seriously addicted to buying them!
ReplyDeletei'm scared to do this! might give it a go though, eek. haha i was thinking today if anyone saw me they'd never believe i have a beauty blog! eek xx
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I'm so nosey, so seeing what you use on a daily basis is so fun!
ReplyDeleteI would be too scared to do this though, I use so much stuff on my face and waste too much money on make up!
Ooh i wouldn't dare do this! eeek. I love your makeup though, I want F+B but dont know if it will be enough coverage for my horrible skin. Rose D'or blush is amazing! xo.

ReplyDeleteHihi :) I did this tag too (",) Great revelation!
Such an interesting post. You've inspired me to tot up my own face value!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too naughty with make-up but I'm sure it'd be more than I expected.
Lovely blog.

ReplyDeleteIt is quite a bit, but not too much, it could be so much worse. You don't splurge on all of your products which is good :)
ReplyDeleteI blogged about it here too :)
