This time last year make up was definitely my thing, it was what I was choosing to spend my hard earned pennies on but this year I can sense my tastes have changed and I'm finding myself lusting after more and more clothing items. As someone who is generally more comfortable behind the camera, I'm surprising myself by really enjoying taking photographs for outfit posts. It also makes me proud of my boyfriend, he's such a talented photographer but he hardly ever has a camera in his hands anymore except when I make him do these pictures for me. He loves it really!

I really love this dress from Boohoo, I hadn't placed an order with them for a long time and I'm really impressed with the things I got. The quality seems to be quite a bit better than I remember it being. This dress would be perfect if it were a few inches longer, this seems to be a problem I'm having with a lot of dresses on the highstreet at the moment so I'm taking it as a sign that I need to get back on the ol' exercise bike and tone up my legs. It's no secret that I've put on a few pounds lately which I'm now ready to do something about, it's one of my 25 things to do before I'm 25 (
a post on that will be coming soon!) and hopefully within a few months of healthier eating and exercise I'll begin to really notice a difference. I don't own a pair of scales or anything, I have a tendency to get a little obsessive if I'm constantly weighing myself so I just judge on how my clothes fit me. I can tell my hips & legs have filled out a little bit, typical pear shape, a big fat nothing ever heads for my two friends - damn!
I'm currently nursing a few scratches on my hands, last night was spent trying to trim Ralphie's nails down and it was an eventful experience. Not quite as difficult as giving him a bath is, but it came pretty close. It's not something I'm keen to repeat too soon.
Last night I asked on twitter if the
Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner is better than the
MAC fluidline & everyone that replied said yes! Will the Bobbi Brown last longer on my eyes without smudging? I gave up with MAC blacktrack and sold it in a blog sale because it just didn't last very long on me at all. If you have any long wearing black gel or liquid eyeliner recommendations, of any price range please let me know in the comments! I'm really missing winged eyeliner!
xoxo
Hi,

What camera does your boyfriend use to take these phots, as I need a high res camera for my own blog?

Thank you! We've been using my new camera which is a Canon 600D with a 50mm 1.8 lens :)

Honestly, it's nothing to do with your thighs, it's the "great" British high street. Hemlines are getting shorter and shorter. I'm 5'9" and I find it impossible to get dresses that don't look indecent on me. Rather sick of wearing leggings with everything. They cynic in my can't help but think slashing a couple of inches off hemlines also slashes a bit of production costs... Hmmm. You look beautiful Jennie, and I STILL want that bag! Lx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one that's having problems with hemlines, I'm almost 5'9 and it's just silly! Thank you lovely <3

gorgeous pics Jen, what a clever lad he is.. love the outfits - you look uber-cute..
ReplyDeletekx

DeleteAbsolutely stunning. I wish I could take photos as beautifully as you do.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Aww thank you! I'm lucky my boyfriend is willing to take my outfit pictures! xoxo
DeleteLooking forward to seeing your 25 for 25 list! Good luck with the healthy living!
ReplyDeleteOn eyeliner, I love the liquid liner from the new Soap and Glory make-up range. It's not stritly liquid, more like a felt pen, but it goes on like liquid, looks great and lasts yonks!
Thank you! Ooh I'll have to try the soap and glory liner - love felt pen styles they're so easy to apply! xoxo
DeleteI'm loving these outfit posts! The colour of this dress really suits you and your boyfriend definitely is a great photographer! I use the maybelline gel liner and it stays put all day. The brush that comes with it is quite good too. xx
ReplyDeleteAww thank you lovely & thank you for the recommendation! xoxo
Deleteyour hair's a lovely colour!! :) xo
ReplyDelete<3 xoxo
DeleteThat bag is lovely Jennie and I really like the shoes too! You have such a good taste xx

Thank youuu <3 xoxo
DeleteLovely outfit. A lot of dresses around at the moment seem to be quite short. I bought a lacey one from missguided and it barely covers my bum. I've never bought from boohoo before but might have to have a little look :)
ReplyDeleteoh and I've been meaning to say for a while that I really love your blog!It is honestly one of my favourites xx
I have the same problem with a dress I got from missguided! Think most of their things are super short! Thank you so much! xoxo
DeleteJennie I love these pictures, you look absolutely gorgeous! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the dress with the blazer. But I think it might be even more awesome with boots.
ReplyDeleteInglot Gel Liner *will*not*budge. I highly recommend it.
Thank you!! Xoxo
DeleteYou look gorgeous! Great outfit + you have gorgeous hair!!
ReplyDeleteA really good liquid black eyeliner is Lise Waitier, I use it every day and it lasts me all day and all night without smudging. It is also super easy to remove so you do not have any of that annoying black residue that some liquid liners can leave. Its really great and worth a shot!

DeleteAh all your photos are gorgeous :) xx
ReplyDeleteAww I'm lucky I have a talented boyfriend who is willing to take photographs for me! Xoxo
DeleteI love the dress and blazer combo! The colour of the dress is gorgeous and just brings the whole outift together, and the little details like the buttons are really nice :) I have oily skin and find that the Topshop gel liner lasts all day on my eyelids, and I use a Sigma brush to apply it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I really love this blazer, it goes with so much. Ooh I've been curious about the topshop liner, think I might give it a go!
DeleteThese photos are so lovely! The setting is pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Xoxo
Deleteobsessed with this outfit! and your hair is so pretty x
ReplyDeleteAww thanks so much! Xoxo
DeleteLovely photos. Your outfit looks lovely against the backdrop too, like sort of countryish if that makes sense. I've not bought anything from boohoo for ages since I was so unimpressed with their quality the first time I did. I might have to give it another try if it's improved though x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm lucky to live next some beautiful countryside! It's not amazing quality but the pieces I got are much better than the last time I ordered xoxo
Deleteyou always look gorgeous! x

ReplyDeleteAww thank you!! :) xoxo
DeleteYou look stunning Jennie, so photogenic! xx
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much sweets! :) xoxo
DeleteYou look beautiful Jennie, the dress is absolutely gorgeous (: I haven't bought a dress in far too long, I tend to opt for seperates just going on the fact that dresses/tunics are always fitted at awkward lengths!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you! I never seem to go for separates for some reason, I'm sure I'd have a much more versatile wardrobe if I did though! Xoxo
DeleteYou look absolutely stunning! Your hair looks so pretty lighter and I'm in love with the dress
ReplyDeletexx

DeleteI love the dress! And I've said it before but I'll say it again - I NEED THAT BAG IN MY LIFE! It's just too gorgeous! Also - hemlines are just getting ridiculously too short! I'm only 5'1 and even some of the stuff I'm trying on is getting too short to be decent!
ReplyDeleteMuch Love

DeleteAnother utterly fantastic outfit post! I am so jealous of your hair, it's unreal, it's gorgeous. Love the dress too, the colour is perfect xx
ReplyDeleteAww Steph <3 thank you do much! Xoxo
DeleteI know what you mean about the hemline thing! I never wear trousers and rarely wear jeans, but find it hard to find skirts and dresses that are suitably long without crossing over into 'frumpy' territory. That dress looks lovely on you, though!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm not much of a jeans wearer either, high five! xoxo
