Illamasqua Tweak Powder Blush. (£18) |
Illamasqua will probably always be my favourite make up brand for blush, both their cream and powder blushes are beautifully pigmented and they always last all day long on my skin. Their powder blushers are always so finely milled, smooth and apply like an absolute dream without fail. I'm also a huge fan of the shades in the range. Illamasqua can be a little bit of an out-there brand, but there's definitely something for everyone there, so if you prefer more natural looking make up don't be intimidated by the crazy shades!
Illamasqua Tweak powder blush is a deep hot pink shade with a touch of red in it and there's no denying it looks crazy in the pan. A few years ago this would be a shade I would have never looked twice at, I would have assumed that it would make me look like a clown and gone for something more soft instead. But with a light hand, and I mean a very light hand, this shade can look beautiful on even the fairest of skin tones. I always reach for this blush during the Autumn and Winter specifically because it gives that stunning 'I've just come inside from the cold' kind of Snow White look that I adore.
It has a matte formulation and although I'm usually a shimmer fan, this is a shade that would lose a bit of its magic if it were packed full of sparkle. Illamasqua have managed to create a line of matte blushers that don't look too flat on the skin, they still help to give your cheeks a little dimension and that's why I love them so much.
A lot of the time I wear this shade alone on my cheeks but it also looks beautiful with a touch of your favourite highlighter on the tops of your cheek bones. You don't want anything too sparkly though, I think this is a blush that looks best as the statement part of your make up look. A touch of mascara, a flawless base and a sheer gloss is perfect for day time and for night time I love to add some black winged liner and a nude lip.
This will always be one of my absolute favourite blush shades, there's something so perfect and unique about it and although I don't tend to reach for it all year round, it's so, so beautiful in the cooler months.
Have you ever tried any Illamasqua blushes before?
What is your current favourite blusher?
