Chatsworth is the most beautiful place. We took a little picnic, found a spot beside the water and did nothing but talk for a few hours. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. We made a few sheep friends before heading for a look around the garden centre. I think it's happened, I think we're officially old because we've become a little obsessed with garden centres recently. We only have a tiny garden and since neither of us are particularly green fingered, we're not really sure what to do with it but we've been gathering together a few ideas.
Last night I watched a really inspirational documentary about Vivian Maier (if you're into photography I really recommend having a look at her work and the story behind it) and I'm so excited to get back into taking pictures. Even when I look back at these pictures that were only taken a few weeks ago, I'm reminded of so many little details of the day I had forgotten. And that's what I love so much about photography. I've got the itch to add a new camera to my collection. I'm not sure which to go for, I know I want something a little different to the cameras I already have so I'm going to have to research a little today. But I'm excited!
Do you have a favourite camera?

Chatsworth is pure magic, I can't decide whether I prefer it in the full glow of summer or in the gorgeous snow, it looks beautiful either way!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots as always!

It's such a perfect place for that <3
DeleteI have the fondest memories of Chatsworth! My mum used to take me when I was younger and we used to love the maze and the gardens, and clambering all over the statue of the horse at the end of the fountains... No idea if it's even still there?! Slightly less interested in the house bit but after good old Pride & Prejudice and The Duchess, feel I need to revisit!

DeleteI completely agree with you, the Vivian Maier programme was sooo inspiring! Im pretty sure my camera has barely left my hand since watching it! I find her story so fascinating, just the idea that her photos were found in a trunk and that they were so close to never even being discovered amazes me. Your photography is so beautiful by the way. I've never been to Chatsworth, but I feel its somewhere I definitely need to visit now!
ReplyDeleteI'm constantly amazed by the sheer number of photographs she took, definitely very inspiring and it's made me feel like I don't shoot nearly as much as I should. A part of me feels a little sad for her though, I'm not sure what she would have made of all the attention, her work was so personal for her, I hope she wouldn't have minded too much about so many people seeing and loving it! xo
DeleteChatsworth is really quite close to me but I haven't been in years! definitely on my list of places to go this summer x

DeleteChatsworth has been on my 'to visit' list for ages! It always looks so beautiful in people's pictures of it, and I love it's history, particularly around the restoration by Deborah Mitford.
