Love Me Beauty Box* - October 2013 - £10. |
This month I chose Menu 3 and although there isn't as much difference between the boxes as last month, I think they've done a really good job once again. Four of the products are consistent over each of the boxes with the Amie product being the only one that varies. Although the variety of the boxes is an element that really appeals to be about this company, I still think this is a good box because the four products that are consistent are ones I think a lot of people will either want to, or at least be happy to try.
Weleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo (18ml sample size)
Weleda is a brand that I've tried a few products from and I've loved them all, so I'm pretty excited to see how much I like their nourishing shampoo. This is for normal hair and contains macadamia nut oil, extracts of organic millet husks & sage to gently cleanse the hair and leaving it feeling nourished. It sounds lovely and the scent isn't too overpowering, so I think this might be a winner.
- Full size 190ml retails for £8.95
Lord & Berry Smudge Proof Eyeliner (Full Size)
This is the one product this month I probably won't get a lot of use from, purely because I never really wear eyeliner. I did give it a try yesterday and although it's perhaps not the smoothest of liners to apply, once the colour was on & it's left to set for 30 seconds, it didn't budge so I think they're spot on with their smudgeproof and waterproof claims!
Lord & Berry Scuba Waterproof Mascara (Full Size) The second Lord & Berry product this month is their Scuba mascara, which promises to thicken and lengthen while keeping lashes silky soft and flexible. Again, I gave this a try yesterday and I don't think this is going to replace my favourite mascara. The formula is quite dry, which I like because I always sneeze after applying mascara and if they're too wet they end up going everywhere, but I don't think it gives a lot of length or volume to my lashes. It is however a nice every day, minimal make up kind of mascara. I'll definitely use it up & it's been nice to try, but I probably wouldn't repurchase.
Balm Balm Indulge Bath & Shower Oil (Full Size)
It's starting to get colder outside and I'm using that to excuse my almost nightly bubble baths. The Indulge bath & shower oil from Balm Balm smells beautiful and will almost certainly give a super relaxing and indulgent bath when I use it. This little 5ml bottle is enough for 2 or 3 baths and I think it's a lovely way to be able to try out the brand without committing a lot of money to a product, very excited to use this & I've bookmarked the page already because I think these will make fabulous stocking fillers come Christmas (... and yes I'm thinking about that already!)!
Amie Skincare Bright Eyes Eye Make Up Remover (Full Size)
Finally we have the product that varies over the three boxes and I opted for the box with the Amie Eye Make Up Remover inside. Everything I've tried from Amie in the past has been lovely, they are a really affordable brand, with products that are gentle to the skin that work, really well! I used this for the first time yesterday to remove the eyeliner & mascara and I was really impressed, it removed everything without irritating and without me having to rub or tug away at my eyes. The other two options were the Amie Morning Dew Moisturiser worth £4.95 or 2 large sachets of the Clean Cooling Clay Mask worth £1.50 each.
Another all-round lovely box from Love Me Beauty, I think. They're one of the most consistently good beauty boxes I've seen and although the products you receive won't be a surprise each month, you make up for that in value for money with full-sized products included regularly.
What do you think of this months box?

DeleteI'm really liking the look of these boxes! I feel like the surprise boxes can be really disappointing sometimes so I kinda like the idea of knowing what you're going to get in advance.

Me too, definitely no disappointments! xo

DeleteThis looks like an excellent month! I love Amie, and Lord&Berry! x
ReplyDeleteBoth lovely brands! xo
DeleteI think I might have to give these guys a go! I like the idea of being able to choose - whilst it takes away the surprise a little, at least you're more likely to receive things you quite like the look and sound of!

I like that they're doing something a little bit different! xo
DeleteI've never tried out these subscription boxes but I'm always jealous of those who do- maybe I should try it! I really love amie skincare products, but I can never seem to find any anywhere, does anybody have any idea where to get them? :)
ReplyDeleteI think they're available on the highstreet in Waitrose and John Lewis, but you can buy online from their website & a few other places - they have a section on their website with links I think! ox
DeleteI really like the look of this box, was going to get a Glossybox subscription but I think this one looks nicer :)

I do like both, I think this is slightly more reliable and consistent xo
DeleteThis is just like Birchbox (have you heard of it?), except that with Birchbox you don't get to choose your box of products, which i would much rather do like the one you subscribe to! I sometimes end up with things i would never find use for... although most of the time the products are awesome. The mascara you got looks amazing, i'm always on the hunt for new mascaras so i think i might have to give this one a go! Love the review and seeing what you think of each one! xx
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of Birchbox, I think there's usually a fab selection of products !ox
DeleteThis beauty box looks great! I would give ay of these products a try. -Hanna Marie

DeleteMy box arrived yesterday, I chose the face masks so I'm looking forward to trying them out, that's for sure! Fingers crossed :) I loved their old name, gutted they had to change it as it was too similar to another company but I still love what they're about, and the menu idea is brilliant! Move over Glossybox :D xxx
ReplyDeleteI love the face mask so much, it really works! <3
DeleteI really like Balm Balm! Their balms (surprise surprise) have the most therapeutic scents.

The rest of the box made up for that, which is nice :) xo

It's a lovely box <3
DeleteOhh this looks like a lovely box, the Weleda shampoo sounds really good, as does the bath oil! :)
ReplyDeleteJess xo
So relaxing <3
DeleteI've not subscribed to any of the beauty boxes floating around because, even though they seem good value for money and a great way to road test products, I don't really like the idea of not knowing what I'm paying for in case I'm not fussed by the products. So I like the idea that you get some kind of option with this one :) xx
ReplyDeleteI definitely think it's nice that they're doing something a little bit different, a lot of the monthly subscription boxes are a real risk, which can be fun, but it's good to be able to see what you're getting before it arrives! xo
DeleteThis sounds like an interesting concept for a beauty box. I'd be keen to have a little say over what I could receive.
ReplyDeleteAmie sounds like such a lovely brand but I can't find it in my local Boots. I've read reviews of quite a few Amie products and they've all been positive. I've just seen your reply about the brand being available in Waitrose or John Lewis, so I'll take a peek.
The Lord & Berry mascara looks very dry even in the photograph. Not a good sign as I find mascaras like that make a mess when you apply them.

I definitely love that they're doing something a little bit different! I really recommend Amie as a brand, if you can track them down, definitely give something a try! xo
DeleteI am going to keep an eye out for Amie. I had seen a few items from this brand that looked nice, but I'm on the look out for a new natural eye makeup remover.
ReplyDeleteLovely box :)
That looks like a great box!
ReplyDeleteI opted for menu 4 :)
