W7 Magic Matte Lips Lipstick in In The Pink* (£2.99) |
Usually I'm not one for matte lipsticks, not because I don't like the look of a matte lip but because my lips are always dry and matte formulations often just highlight the dryness and make my lips look super chapped and just terrible. For some reason though this lipstick from the Magic Matte Range* by W7 isn't at all drying or difficult to apply, it's almost moisturising and I think that's something quite impressive, especially from such an affordable brand.
Application is smooth & even and with a touch of lip balm underneath it doesn't highlight any dryness at all; I think it really is magic! I have the shade 'In The Pink', which is a richly pigmented, bright, slightly red-toned pink that instantly brightens my complexion and is one of those colours, like Revlon Cherries in the Snow, that I love wearing so much at this time of the year. It lasts a good 4 hours on my lips without needing to reapply and it fades really evenly so I never have to worry about looking a little strange!
At £2.99 these lipsticks are affordable, there's a range of beautiful shades and most importantly they're such good quality. W7 is a brand that is perhaps easy to overlook or dismiss because their products are so inexpensive, it's one I perhaps would at one time have just assumed the quality wouldn't be there and instead invested a little more money in something else without giving it a second thought. I would have been missing out though, W7 is absolutely a brand to look out for!
Have you tried anything from the W7 range?
What is your favourite affordable make up brand?
Love, Jennie

DeleteSuch a perfect colour. I have never tried a matte lipstick for exactly the same reason, because my lips often look chapped! But I will definitely have to try and use a lip balm underneath.

DeleteThat looks beautiful on you! Always love a hot pink lip. I love matte formulations because anything I seem to end up with all over my face.. I was horrified by the rimmel apocalips because they truly ended up everywhere... This will be looked out for on my next trip to town!
ReplyDeletexxx
I really wanted to try the apocalips but I think I'll avoid the brighter shades! xo
