Elegant Touch Rapid Dry for Nails.
Promising to have your nails touch-dry within 60 seconds this sounds like a perfect product for a girl on the go. I gave this a quick try with an Essie polish yesterday and it didn't really seem to make too much difference, but I've had a little look at reviews online and they seem to vary so maybe it depends which polish you use with it. If you're a regular late-night nail painter this could be a good thing to try and at £3 it's not going to break the bank either.

Yves Rocher Cocoa & Pistachio Hand Cream.
This hand cream leaves my hands feeling super soft & sinks in almost immediately. At first the scent is lovely with almost a hint of warm vanilla in there, but after a little while this fades and my hands are left smelling a little bit like a cabbage patch doll - that sounds insane I know, but do you remember the smell of cabbage patch dolls? It's not necessarily a terrible thing but I can't make my mind up whether I like the scent or not, it's a bit of an odd one! The product itself is lovely though and during the colder months I'm always reaching for hand creams.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum. Vichy is one of my all-time favourite skincare brands so I'm really happy to see these three 3ml samples of the Idealia Life Serum this month. This promises to help transform the appearance of skin quality, giving a more radiant and even-toned complexion. I used this for the first time yesterday, it gave me an instant shot of radiance and was a really lovely base for make up so my first impressions are positive. I'm looking forward to seeing if this makes a difference in the long term.
- Three 3ml samples included. Full size 30ml retails for £29.50
B. Complete Long-Lasting Nail Polish in Rainy Day.
At first I thought this colour wasn't my cup of tea because in the bottle it looks like a murky green (not usually a fan of green), but on the nails it seems to transform into a beautiful muted grey, perfectly suited to the name rainy day. This is one of those polishes that I could definitely get away with just applying one coat to give an even, glossy finish to my nails. This really pleasantly surprised me and I'll be heading down to Superdrug very soon to have a look at other shades in the collection as a little bit of inspiration for me to finally stop biting my nails!
- Full size product. Retails for £4.99
Emite Make Up Micronized Eye Shadow in Nect. This range of eyeshadows are free from oils, parabens and perfumes making them perfect for those with sensitive eyes and they're micronized (whatever that means - finely milled?!) to give an even application. This shade is a super pretty, slightly shimmery pale cream-white shade that really brightens so I think this will be a shade I use in the inner corners of my eyes to help fake that 'wide awake' look when all I really want to do is crawl back into bed! The only downside is I can't find anywhere to purchase these in the UK and they're pretty pricey, but it's nice to have this one especially in a shade I know I'll get a lot of use out of.
- Full size product. Retails for £16.80

Overall this isn't my favourite ever Glossybox but I think they're heading in the right direction & they're definitely making a better first impression with the glossy magazine and nice product information card. The hand cream doesn't wildly excite me but it will absolutely get used up and the nail polish drying spray probably won't be something I reach for but I'll pass it on to someone I know will like giving it a try. The serum is the thing I'm most excited about using, I'm really surprised by how much I love the nail polish colour and the eyeshadow is a pretty shade I'll definitely use.
Are you subscribed to Glossybox?
What do you think of this month's offering & did you receive anything different?
Love, Jennie

ReplyDeleteIt's a fun monthly surprise that's for sure! xo
DeleteNice box

DeleteThis doesn't look too bad of a box :)
ReplyDeleteThat eye shadow is very pretty, my word they are pricey to buy though.

DeleteGlossybox have been a bit meh recently but this one looks back on track! I'd say it's worth it for the Vichy samples alone as I've been dying to try that serum out recently! Can't wait for mine x
ReplyDeleteClaire | AgentSmyth

It's a fun surprise to open each month! xo
DeleteOoh love the look of the magazine. I was thinking the other day that Glossybox have kind of dropped of the radar a little as there are other boxes about that seemed a little better. I have to say it looks as though they are improving!

They're getting there! I think the Love Me Beauty box is one of the best at the moment though! xo
DeleteI've been hearing more about the Vichy Idealia Life Serum lately - 3x3ml samples isn't too bad I think! It's about a third of the full size which is pretty decent :) Glad to hear that first impressions of it were positive.
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed, might have to invest in the full size! xo
DeleteThe nail polish is a really unusual shade, very pretty :) xx
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised by how much I like it <3
DeleteThis looks like a vast improvement on last months box. I like Yves Rocher products & the nail polish looks like an unusual colour (not a bad thing) at least alot of people won't already have it in their collection.
ReplyDeleteTheir magazine is a good update too

DeleteI always have a mental debate about beauty boxes but this looks great! Especially the rapid dry, I could do with some of that ahaa. :)
ReplyDeleteholllieee.blogspot.com
They can be hit or miss, but I think they're getting back on track! xo
DeleteI have tried several fast dry sprays but I never liked them. Even though it is just 3 pounds it is still a waste of money imho. I love the nail polish you got in the box, cannot wait to see a swatch ;)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem to do very much! xo
DeleteOoh the Vichy Idealia Life Serum sounds fab. The eye shadow looks lovely too, so glowy and natural for Autumn. Previously I subscribed to glossybox but I wasn't too impressed with my boxes- probably my fussy streak showing haha ;-)
ReplyDeleteSophie <3 soinspo
They definitely had a run of not so good boxes, I hope they continue to improve from here! xo
Deleteohh that lilfe serum sounds awesome! i've never had much luck with products that promise your radiance, so i like what i'm hearing with that sample!

I really like it so far! xo
DeleteThe Vichy serum sounds really lovely, as does the cute eyeshadow! I really like the shade that they sent you and I agree it will be perfect for brightening the eye. I've never signed up to a beauty box as they always seem to vary wildly month to month! xxx
ReplyDeleteThey do vary a lot, very hit or miss but I hope they continue to improve from this box! xo
DeleteThis looks so much better than the last few boxes they've come out with, especially the Vichy samples! xx

DeleteI love the sounds of the Yves Rocher hand lotion. My hands are super dry throughout the entire fall & winter so I am always looking to invest in a good handcream! :)
ReplyDeleteMine are the same! xo
DeleteThis looks like an interesting box. I do hope I receive the Vichy serum as I'm not sure I've tried the brand before.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the Cabbage Patch Kid comparison! That can't be a nice smell to be left with.

DeleteThey have definitely upped their game in the magazine stakes. I got the same as you but got the colour Matador (red) for the polish. Not tried any of the products yet but I think I like the look of the eyeshadow the best! x
ReplyDeleteOoh the red polish sounds lovely! xo
DeleteI ordered my first GlossyBox on 11/03/2013 I just received it yesterday 11/20/2013 but I have to say mine looks nothing like yours.... what I received in my GlossyBox is the items as followed: Emite Makeup Micronized Eye Shadow in Dams (Black), Nicka Angled Eye Shadow Brush, Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner & Shadow (Black), The Aloe Source Jojoba Radiance Cleansing Polish – 1 oz, and a Mastey Color Protecting Leave-In Oil Treatment - 2 oz Im wondering why are boxes are so different and why this happens I guess I'm just curious because it is my first box so I didn't really know what to expect?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, I think the differences has something to do with the amount of each product they can get at a time xo
DeleteDo subscribers all get the same Glossybox or do people each get unique ones?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
