I woke up to glorious sunshine and thought it would be the perfect day to finish taking pictures for the rest of the posts I have planned this month. I set everything up, started snapping away and a big black cloud floated in & covered the sun. No problem, I thought. I'll just pop downstairs and get a lamp to add a touch more light. Carrying said lamp up the stairs I manage to get my toe caught in the wire, I fall up the last few steps and everyone laughs. That's okay, happy to entertain and lesson learned in appropriate ways to carry lamps up stairs...!
I start happily taking pictures until the single big black cloud turns into multiple big black clouds. A lamp can't help me out here! Then a huge rainstorm hits, so I decide to just wait for it to blow over. I decide to add another lamp to my set up and spend a little extra time colour correcting my pictures in photoshop later. Everything goes well until I momentarily seem to lose control of my own leg and out of nowhere, kick the table. Everything falls off, including the lamp...which is now broken. Oh dear.
The best part is, the sun is now shining gloriously again. but every time I start to take pictures, a big black cloud appears from nowhere. So I'm beginning to think that today won't be my picture taking day after all and I should probably give in and buy some kind of studio light even though I really don't want to. Well, after I've replaced that lamp...
And now I'm sat here chuckling away to myself because it's hilarious. I was so annoyed for about 10 minutes but none of it really matters that much and catching the sight of my grumpy face in the mirror is enough to make anyone laugh, think angry furrowed eyebrows and red cheeks!
Now, to go and tidy up...after a cup of tea though, I think!

FLASH POLL...
Are you having a nice Sunday? I hope so!
Love, Jennie

Oh no! It happens I suppose! I've done many things like that and fallen over for no reason whatsoever aha. At least you could see the amusing side! I'm sorry your lamp broke though! xxx
ReplyDeleteTotally just one of those days! xo
DeleteAh man I hate when that happens to me,
ReplyDeleteyou want to take pictures with the best
natural light and a big mean cloud appears!
I'm sorry to hear about your lamp accident,
Glad you've pulled yourself together with
a smile c; Xx
Hehe thank you lovely! OX
DeleteAt least you got a good laugh out of it, sounds like a disastrous morning! :')
ReplyDeleteHaha absolutely! xo
Deleteha ha! the weather is definitely not on your side, loved this little read. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for you to try again:-)x

hehe thank you lovely! xo
DeleteAwww I'm sorry that the weather wasn't on your side! But you seem to have brought everything back to normal again so yey! ^_^

DeleteAww Jennie I can so relate with you at the moment. I wanted to get some product photos taken last Friday but it never stopped raining and it was constantly dark outside. I get quite frustrated when the things that I've planned to do, don't materialise because of factors that are beyond my control. But I try to take it easy and remind myself ''there's always tomorrow.'' Glad to hear that you've gotten over it and that you're able to laugh it off. :D
ReplyDeletePS RIP to your poor lamp ;)
Definitely, tomorrow is a new day as they say! <3
DeleteAww no! Good for you for seeing the funny side so quickly; knowing me I'd throw a diva strop about it haha!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday & it's more stress free <3

Haha sometimes a diva strop is entirely necessary too! ;)
DeleteOh no, that's never fun! At least you can laugh about it because me being me would storm off in a little strop for 5 minutes haha!

Hehe I may have done that too... ;)
DeleteI feel bad that you broke your lamp! I guess sometimes things just don't go how we want. -Hanna Lei
ReplyDeleteJust one of those bad days I think! xo
DeleteI completely feel your pain. A few months ago I brought some lights as I just couldn't always work around daylight, esp at this time of year and it was stressing me out where blogging was concerned. The lights arrived, I tested randomly and they were great so I was all ready another night to take loads of photos… set everything up… one of the lights tipped over and the bulb smashed… I couldn't believe it - I'd not managed to take so much as one photo sent. Then I ordered new bulbs, they got lost in the post so I was sent another lot and am now paranoid whether I use the lights that they'll smash again!

Ohh no! Hopefully it'll be third time lucky!! xx
DeleteAh Noo, sometimes you can just have one of days where little annoying things go wrong, it's good that you can see the funny side though, it always makes things easier aha x
ReplyDeleteRosalieJayne
Definitely! xo
DeleteOh wow. The lengths us bloggers go to in order to get our pictures taken! That’s so funny…but pretty unfair too. It is good you are seeing the funny side. I have no patience and would probably get really angry!
ReplyDeleteHaha I know, such a faff!! xo
DeleteSometimes when that happens, I always laugh and let it go. I used to be kinda perfectionist and everything has to be done on time..But then it's not good for me at all. So nowadays I just make everything goes with the flow instead of rushing things out xx
ReplyDeleteI think that's the best way to be, everything is so much less stressful that way <3
DeletePoor thing! Always happens that just as your about to take a photo a cloud appears or a freak gust of wind! x
ReplyDeletehehe it's so typical! xo
