March Glossybox* (£10 + p&p) |
First impressions of this month's Glossybox* weren't the best, there was only really one product that immediately caught my eye, but I've definitely learned not to judge on first impressions because sometimes the best things really do come in small, inconspicuous packages. I must admit they've still not completely won me over with the Glossy Magazine - I do think it's a nice idea and the content is getting better, but I'd be even more impressed if they added in an extra product instead.
Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair 60 Second Thermal Treatment Shot (£1.49) - Full size
I really like the idea of these hair treatment shots because sometimes when my hair needs a bit of TLC I don't always want to invest in a huge tub of something. I've tried a few Dove hair products before and I quite liked them so I'm quite looking forward to trying this. Definitely perfect for a relaxing Sunday evening!
Helenere MaĆ®trise du Temps Serum (£31) - Full size
Blimey this is a pricey serum considering there's only 10ml in the bottle! This promises to be super hydrating and brightening. It feels pretty luxurious so I'm quite looking forward to adding this to my evening skincare routine, although I have a feeling my mama might be pinching this off me before I have the chance!
Michell and Peach Body Cream (£36 for full size 180ml) Sample size
This is the product I'm least excited about but I do really enjoy trying out luxury body creams because I usually just purchase inexpensive ones for myself. This contains honey, organic cocoa and vitamin B5 - it also promises not to be sticky at all and so far, I'd say it's living up to that claim pretty well.
Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Wow (£12.99) Full size
From having a little look online, these come in so many beautiful colours! I received a pretty pink shade and although I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to use it yet, I'm quite smitten. This isn't something I would have bought to try for myself, but I'm quite looking forward to experimenting a little with it!
Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum (£4.49) Full size
This is by far my favourite product this month. I've glanced at these in shops for years but for some reason I never had a close look. This is exactly the shade I would have picked out for myself too because I'm going through a real phase of loving nude, barely there lip colours. This one is pretty sheer, but it feels so comfortable to wear and it's already made its way into my everyday make up bag. Are there any colours in the range that are particularly lovely?
***
I'm a lot happier with my box this month than I was last month because every item is one that I'll get some use out of and I really like the range of products they've included. It's always lovely to receive some make up in a beauty box, especially when they're as pretty as these products look. The hair treatment sounds promising, the serum is insanely luxurious and expensive body creams are always a bit of a treat.
What do you think of this month's box?

Boo, I knew these boxes would start getting better once I cancelled! This does look like a great box, I especially love the look of the serum. I'm happy to have missed out on yet another body lotion though x

I agree that the Helenere serum is the highlight of this Glossy Box for me. I have tried the Dove Intensive Repair Shots before and my hair definitely feels softer the morning after, but, since I obsess over my hair, I really like the Japanese brand Lux. Do you guys get that in the UK?
DeleteIt's a lovely serum! <3
DeleteI haven't heard of Lux before! x

DeleteI'd love to try that Dove hair product, my hair could always do with some extra care and attention! It's good to hear that the serum feels good, but it sure is pricey! xx

DeleteI've heard great things about the Sleek Pout Polishes, but they aways seem to be in a sticky mess when you test them at superdrug

Ooh, this one isn't sticky at all <3
DeleteAm I allowed to say "oh B*gger" because so far I've had boxes with absolute rubbish and the serum would have been something my sad autoimmune disease ravaged skin would be crying out for! one box I had was samples and it was at that point that I said no more. Oh well, I guess I'd better just save up and buy it from the store...

it's really lovely <3
DeleteOoh, this looks like a pretty good box! I like the sound of the serum and the moisturiser, and I love everything I've tried from Sleek so the pout polish sounds great too.
ReplyDeleteCatherine, xo // Lady Liquor Vintage
love it so far <3
DeleteI wouldn't be too impressed with this, even though the Sleek & Dove products are probably great and the ones that I would be likely to get the most use out of I just wouldn't expect to see them in a box of luxury samples! x
ReplyDeleteLeanne - A Slice of My Life
Ahh I'm the complete opposite. I really enjoy these more affordable products because as nice as it is to try expensive things, if I fell in love with them there's no way in a million years I'd be able to afford to repurchase them. Like the serum, I've tried it a few times now and I think it's wonderful, but it's not something I would repurchase.
DeleteI suppose it just highlights what a difficult task these beauty boxes have to try and please the majority of their subscribers who will all inevitably like different things. The way I gauge a good box from a bad box for me is the amount of products I'm likely to get use out of as well as the variety that's included. That's not the same for everyone, but I do want to be completely transparent with the way I look at things because I do receive these boxes for review consideration. xo
This looks amazing! I am looking forward to mine arriving now, as the last 2 months have been so disappointing. x
ReplyDeleteI hope you love yours! x
DeleteThanks for the review! Would love to try the Sleek product ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, follow you now xx

This looks like a really nice box! I love the sound of the body lotion and the serum :) The bellapierre shimmer powder looks beautiful, too.

I am so jealous that the UK gets the glossybox magazine. They use to do it for the US, but they stopped. Great Review. Check out my review as well which will be up later this week. I would love to hear your feedback. (http://www.amyballou.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteI reserved judgement this month until I'd tried some of the products out. I do love the feeling of the Mitchell and Peach body cream. It sinks in quickly and leaves my skin really hydrated but I just cannot stand the scent :( I've tried the serum and I don't know if I'm using too much but I find it quite sticky. I'll keep going with it though and see if it makes any improvements to my skin cos I have to agree it's kinda pricey so I naturally expect results lol! x
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to get the serum! looks very promising ! Lovely post! check out my glossy box review! xx
