Hello & happy Sunday! One of my favourite blogging ladies in the world, beautiful Miho, tagged me for the One Lovely Blogger Award so here are seven things about me...
- I've been writing here on sailboat for almost five years & it's the longest I've ever stuck at anything. There have been times when I lost my way a little, but it's easily one of the best decisions I've ever made.
- A year ago I probably could have counted on 2 hands the amount of books I'd read since my teenage years. Twelve months ago a University tutor reignited my love for literature through her unwavering encouragement and sheer passion for language. I won't ever be able to thank her enough.
- I have serious crisp issues, especially if they're salt & vinegar flavoured. I can't buy those big sharing bags because I will eat them all and I probably won't share them.
- Without my glasses I can't see a thing, but I've made a mental floor plan of my house so I can navigate around it perfectly in the dark/without my glasses on and not stub my toes on anything.
- My handwriting is truly awful. A lot of the time I have no idea what I've written down that I'm supposed to remember or do.
- I have a tendency to drop off the radar a lot without realising I'm doing it. I don't have a phone and I'm terrible at replying to tweets and emails. I am trying to make a conscious effort to get better at it though. It's one of the personality traits I'm not particularly fond of and trying to make small talk is pretty much my worst nightmare.
- My special talent is sleeping. I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere, even if I'm not very tired. I can't nap though because I always wake up in the worst mood!

Haha my handwriting is terrible too, can't read my own either! Ah naps seem like such a good idea beforehand but I always feel terrible afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone with the bad handwriting problem! xx
DeleteThis is lovely, and I totally agree about the small talk. I hate having to have conversations with people when there is quite obviously nothing much to talk about!
ReplyDeleteI can never think of anything to say that doesn't make me sound so silly haha! x
DeleteCongrats lovely, nearly 5 years is unbelievable. I've been reading your blog for so long and still love it as I always have :)

Aww thank you, that means the world! xx
DeleteCompletely agree about number 6! I swear I have some kind of mental deficit - if I'm not in the same town as someone, I'm terrible at keeping in touch. Studying psychology has made me realise that I seem to have not yet developed the same cognitive skills most people develop at the age of 3 - if I can't see it, it doesn't exist! xxx

I think we're pretty much the same person in that respect, I'm sure we'll get better at it haha! xx
DeleteI love this post. I totally get you with the salt and vinegar crisps! I have eaten a whole share bag to myself on many occasions haha!
ReplyDeleteLove M
They're SO good! x
DeleteI love these personal posts, and yours are always so positive Jennie! As for the crisp issue, prawn cocktail is my downfall. I'm not even trusted to walk down the crisp aisle in the supermarket by myself any more!
ReplyDeleteBeth x
Haha neither am I, they're just too good! xx
DeleteLove this post, so fun to read.

DeleteMy handwriting is truly terrible as well, it is a bit of a problem at work especially when I have to write minutes to meetings! So with you on the sleeping too, I can sleep anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone on the bad handwriting front! xxx
DeleteTotally with you on salt and vinegar crisps - I just can't get enough of them!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I love getting a sneak peak at other blogger's inner thoughts.
Em | Hmm maybe...
They're just too yummy! xx
DeleteI love reading posts like this, it really helps you to get to know the person behind the screen! Glad you shared this!

Thank you for reading! :)
DeleteI'm the same with crisps, but my weakness are Doritos! I've got to the stage where I tell my friends to not let me buy them because I can't control myself haha! I really enjoyed reading this post Jennie :)

Ohh I can totally see why they're you're weakness, they're really good too! xx
DeleteOoh, I'll do this tomorrow! I always laugh when I see the so-called 'share' bags on the shelves, there's no way I'm sharing! xxx
ReplyDeleteHahaa I totally agree! xxx
DeleteLove reading posts like this :-) I also share the same crisp problem...

Yayy I'm so glad I'm not alone hehe xx
DeleteWhat a gorgeous tag :) I'm so glad that despite the hard times you stayed strong and have stuck with sailboat, the blogosphere would most definitely not be the same without you or your precious, lovely blog!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I'm most definitely with you salt & vinegar! Although anything salty related is always my downfall, especially when it comes to fish and chips! :| It's so lovely you have such a love of literature that you re-discovered and it really shows in your beautiful writing style.
Aww how lovely of you to tag me Jennie! Such a sweet surprise <3

Aww thank you lovely lady! Oh gosh yes, salt and vinegar on chips - SO good! <3 xxx
DeleteI have a tendency to fall off the radar without realising it either - I'll be really busy for a few weeks and then realise I can't remember when I last saw some of my friends! It's a habit that really annoys me because I have no one to blame but myself - I really need to make more of an effort to be organised and always make the time for my friends and family, even if it is just a phone call.
ReplyDeletex
p.s. I am always so grumpy after a nap too - I obviously don't understand people who can nap and then feel full of energy!
I think we'll both get better at it one day! Ahh I know, they're so lucky! xx
DeleteAh the salt and vinegar crisps! I am exactly the same, it's my weakness!
ReplyDeleteMy handwriting is pretty dire too, which isn't great for a teacher, I have to try very hard to keep it neat when marking.
They're just too good haha! xx
DeleteI love that you have rediscovered reading, its my favourite thing to do. I have read so mayn good books this year! What are you currently reading?
ReplyDeleteYayy! I'm currently reading a play for Uni by Chekhov, but I think I'm going to start Just Kids by Patti Smith tonight <3 x
DeleteAw what a lovely post! It is so heartwarming and is a beautiful idea! Sleeping is my talent too! :)

Deletethanks for doing this Jennie! love all your facts. it surprises me that you think you have terrible handwriting - I always imagined you have a beautiful one! i bet it's not as bad as you think ;) and five years of blogging, that is quite a feat. thank goodness as we love it and never want you to stop! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for tagging me, I loved writing these! Ahh no, it's really terrible especially when I'm trying to write something down really quickly before I forget it! Oh gosh, you're too kind! <3
DeleteSame with the sleeping. Whenever I fly to Canada I end up sleeping on my friends' beds for hours and they make fun of me for flying all the way there just to nap, lol. I'm also really bad with replying to anything, out of laziness. I'm also trying to work on that!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't like salt and vinegar flavored crisps. :(
xx becky // star violet
haha yayy for sleeping! xx
DeleteI've been reading your blog from the start & absolutely love it :) You should be very proud!
ReplyDeleteJordanAlice
Wow, thank you! That means the world <3 xx
DeleteGoodness, salt and vinegar crisps! Just the thought about it makes me start drooling!
ReplyDeleteI have the worst handwriting as well, No one else can decipher it but me!
I'm beginning to think it's a good thing, no one can read anything that you don't want them to! xx
DeleteMe too with falling asleep! Cars, on stage, in nightclubs... I can sleep through everything! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a talent! xx
DeleteI'm the same with sweet and salted popcorn lately!
ReplyDeleteSO good! xx
DeleteHow awesome that you went from not reading very often to completely loving it- I think sometimes all it takes is one book, or one person to really remind us (or introduce us) to the beauty that is books!
ReplyDeleteI'll never be able to thank my tutor enough for the wonderful gift she has given me and I hope that one day I'll be able to give the same gift to someone else xx
DeleteI love this idea! I'm exactly the same with crisps, my main weakness. Now I'm on this diet I'm having to really limit myself to when I have them and like you said, multipacks are a no-no, I don't have the will power! I'm very impressed you survive without a phone, I often wish I could do that but alas that would never work!
ReplyDeleteRaffles Bizarre Blog
It's been quite refreshing, but sometimes it's not very practical! xx
DeleteUK has in my opinion pretty good crips/chips brand :D
ReplyDeleteI love seasalt & vinegar flavor as well ^__^ Xx
They're so yummy! xx
DeleteSuch a lovely post Jennie :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
DeleteI love that these facts about you are all so different!
ReplyDeleteI've been a bit of a bookworm recently too - I have four new books to get through from this month! :)
