Benefit Benetint* (£24.50) |
If it hadn't been in a little surprise parcel of goodies from Birchbox I'm not sure I would have ever tried Benetint again despite recently becoming intrigued by liquid blushes. It's one of the best sellers in the Birchbox shop and, well, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
I've had little samples of Benetint before from magazines, but I was never brave enough to try using it on my cheeks because I thought I'd mess it up, end up having to take all my make up off and start again. One Sunday when I knew I wasn't going to be leaving the house I decided to give it a try. I loved it and I've used it every single day since. The picture above with it on my cheeks isn't the best representation of the colour, of course I chose to take that picture on the rainiest day ever, it's a little rosier but no brighter.
The key with application is "less is more". It's very easy to over-do and not the easiest to fix. On one occasion I ended up looking not too dissimilar to a clown, but thankfully going over it with my Real Techniques sponge with a little foundation and then a fair amount of setting powder saved the day and I didn't have to start over. Rather than following the instructions and brushing 3 strokes on to my cheeks and blending, I brush a little on to my middle finger and then tap my cheek super quickly making sure to blend up a little too. I tend to do this once, then apply a touch more, and then when I think I could probably get away with adding a little more I don't because it would be too much.
None of my other blushes are getting a look in at the moment, and I never thought a liquid blush would be able to replace my love for creams. It just looks so bloomin' natural, when I don't go overboard and then have to apply half a tonne of powder over the top that is!
Have you ever tried a liquid blush before?

I have a little sample of benetint from a magazine, it really is such a lovely little blusher! Amazing photos Jennie :) x

DeleteOh it looks beautiful on you and very REAL! I have posietint which I love but have always wondered if I should have gone for benetint? :-) I guess I should! :-)

Posietint looks so pretty! x
DeleteI've loved Benetint since almost two years ago, when I got it in the Sugarlicious set, but when I went to hse it a few months ago, the lid had cracked! Have a new bottle now thanks to the Sweet Tintations set - you need to try Lolliint!x
ReplyDeleteAhh yes, it looks so pretty! I kind of want them all now haha xx
DeleteThis is a lovely little product isn't it. I recently picked up a little sample from Boots and have been pleasantly surprised.

DeleteI love liquid blushers, although sometimes I wish the blending time was a little longer! Fine'n'Dandelion
ReplyDeleteIt definitely dries very quickly! x

Benefit have the loveliest packaging <3
DeleteThis looks beautiful on you Jennie, so natural! I've never tried Benetint but have always found I can't work quickly enough with Benefit's liquid tints - I'll have to try putting on my finger rather than directly onto my face :)

I find I have a lot more control that way xx
DeleteThis suits you so well :) I am always a bit scared of blusher, but this looks like it could be made really subtle. I'm tempted!
ReplyDeleteIt's so natural looking <3
DeleteYep, I felt like that too! I thought it would stain in a really weird way, or I wouldn't be able to blend it! It's lovely though :) xxx
ReplyDeleteVery natural looking, it's perfect <3
DeleteIt looks amazing :)

DeleteI've had a sample size of Benetint before, and loved the rosey shade that it leaves, but found it quite time consuming and difficult to blend. Maybe if I'd tried applying it straight from my finger it would have worked better!

Definitely one that needs precise application or it can all go a bit awry! x
DeleteSuch a gorgeous product!

DeleteI have a sample size of Lollitint - though I think the color of Benetint is more up my alley. Looks wonderful on you :) I really like the idea of a liquid blush to touch up, as long as your fingers are clean you don't need to carry around any brushes. Mind you I've never needed to touch up on makeup because I think it's such a hassle.... but it's a nice thought, haha.

Lollitint looks super pretty too <3
DeleteI'm pretty sure I used this for the first time about 10 years ago! It's a fantastic product but sadly I haven't used it in years. I think I have a sample kicking aroound somewhere, this post has encourage to dig it out!

Definitely one worth revisiting! x
DeleteI love my Benetint but it took me a while to form a friendly relationship. First the colour was not quite 'my', then it was a bit streaky when applied but when i got the gist of it ....it's one of my favourites now :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely <3
DeleteYou really do have perfect skin!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Benetint for the same reasons. It looks so pretty as a blush yet I've only used it as a lip tint. It's such a nice natural finish. I'm going to try your application tips, and definitely on a day I don't have anywhere to go, just in case.
xx
I find it gives a lot more control that way, less scary hehe xx
DeleteThis looks so pretty on you! I own Posietint and I definitely find it easier to apply to my lips, I'm still working on using it as a blush haha xx
ReplyDeleteToasty
Definitely takes a little getting used to! x
DeleteIt looks perfect on you! Just gorgeous ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThank you!! xx
DeleteI adore benetint, my go to product for cheeks and lips. Lasts all days as well! x
ReplyDeleteYes! So long lasting! xx
