Things I Pledge To Appreciate More.

⚡ The way Ralphie immediately starts to hop over every time I set foot into the room.
⚡ How a smile completely illuminates someone's face when they've just been given good news, or a compliment, or recognition for that something that makes them feel so complete after dedicating so much time to it.
⚡ The smell of fresh coffee, just-out-of-the-oven bread and homemade lemonade.
⚡ Crying at soppy adverts or at the moment in the film where someone's dreams come true, because feeling is how we know we're truly alive. Emotion is not a weakness, it's something to celebrate.
⚡ When my favourite song is unexpectedly played on the radio just as I switch stations.
⚡ Closing the curtains at the end of a long day, shutting the world out for a while and just being without any distractions.

I love the idea of appreciating the smaller things more, it's definitely something I don't do at the moment.

DeleteThis is a great list of things to appreciate Jennie. Every morning, I've started to write down three things I'm grateful for. It's a really great way to start the day and it really does make a difference. I think these are all lovely, little yet important things to be grateful for :)

That sounds like the perfect way to begin each day <3
DeleteI love these!
ReplyDeleteRecently I've started to try and appreciate just sitting with a mug of tea and enjoying drinking it. Like, really enjoying drinking it and not gulping it down without noticing,
xx
Even the simple things can be wonderful <3

DeleteA lovely list! I've recently started to take in and appreciate the wonderful views on my journey into work in the car, rather than being in a constant huff at my terrible commute. Life can truly be wonderful when you open your mind to it.

DeleteLove this - especially "emotion is not a weakness, it's something to celebrate". I'm sick of being told that I'm "too emotional" or having "emotional" being used as s criticism. x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not a bad thing! <3
DeleteI'm trying to do the first on your lift more now that it's Spring. Sunlight in the morning makes such a difference to your mood! Xx

DeleteThis is such a lovely post Jennie, I always try and appreciate the small things which is one of the reasons why I started blogging, so that I culd record them! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's nice to record them <3
DeleteThe little details and moment is what makes life, even do I sound soo cheesy! I love this post! We take for granted so many things :)
ReplyDeleteCheesy maybe, but it's so true! <3
DeleteI think one of the reasons Instagram and Twitter became so popular was because they gave us an opportunity to capture small moments from our everyday life, in pictures and in words, which made us connect with people from all around the world. Isn't it incredible that a cup of coffee can be so celebrated? But sometimes we have to close the curtains (I just love this metaphor) as you say, and appreciate what we have in a private, humble, truthful moment. None of the other things would matter otherwise. None of the other things would be real. Great post and thank you for sharing this with us, Jennie.
