Peaches & Cream Bouquet* from Debenhams Flowers Mother's Day range | £27.99 |
When I was younger my Mother always made sure there was a fresh bunch of flowers on the kitchen table each week. We didn't live in the best neighbourhood or in the nicest house on the street, but our home always felt homely and I think fresh flowers had a lot to do with that. A cliche perhaps, but it's true when they say that flowers can brighten up a room and I suppose I had forgotten just how much magic is held within those perfectly formed petals.
There's also a special kind of magic opening the door to be greeted with a floral gift. My Mother and I opened the box and arranged these in a vase together, set them on the windowsill and stepped back to admire them. A couple of the flowers looked a little disheveled upon opening the box, but it has now been five days since they arrived and they still look the same as when we arranged them so they're holding up well so far.
This Mother's Day my special mama will have a fresh bunch to sit on her kitchen table. After everything she has done and continues to do for me, it really is the least I can do. And perhaps I'll resume the tradition and make sure there's a fresh bunch on my kitchen table every week too.
25% Discount Code for you!
The code DFBLOG25 will give you 25% off a bouquet from Debenhams Flowers (the bouquets in the Flowers By Post section are unfortunately exempt from the discount, but it should work perfectly on everything else!) and it's one to make a note of you're planning to send flowers to a special someone soon.
Do you like to have a bunch of fresh flowers in your home?
xoxo
We recently learnt this concept in class about how humans long to be close to nature, and that this is the reasoning behind pets and displaying plants/flowers in the home. I found it so interesting and it really does seem true!

ReplyDeleteI've never had flowers in my flat because I keep forgetting to buy a vase. But there is something really homely about having some at home.

Mine too, they're so pretty. Aww thank you so much, you're very kind! xo
DeleteThis is just stunning, your photography is just beautiful, some of the images remind me of a Monet painting. My mum lives abroad, and sadly this year I'll only be able to chat to her on FaceTime, but there's nothing sweeter than buying flowers for your mum.

Thank you so much Emilia! Aww, will be nice to have a good chat though - yay for modern technology! xx
DeleteWill this code run out before mother's day? I would love to send my dear mummy some flowers and it might be more affordable with a discount code (so skint at the moment).
ReplyDeleteI love getting flowers, I put them in my windowsill which faces onto the street and I like to think they light up people's day a bit. Well, the flowers and my weird cat Percy waving his paw at them from the windowsill. :)
No, it should run until after Mother's Day! :) x
DeleteOh, beautiful photos. I just found your blog, it's lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking, did you use a 50mm lens for these? x
Laura

These photos are beautiful, they are just gorgeous. I'll be buying my Mum some flowers when I'm home from uni, so although it'll be a little later than Mother's Day I know my brother will be sending her some for Mothers Day.

DeleteThese photos are so, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew more about different types of flowers. I like white roses but that's about as far as I know. Oh, and there are these beautiful little things that look like musical bells. I can never remember what they're called. And lilies are rather lovely. I was almost named Lily.
I'm rambling now so I'll go away! :)

I don't know very much about different types either, but they're so pretty and really brighten up a room <3
DeleteThis was such a beautiful post - both with words and images. (It also gave a me momentary fright but then I remembered that Mother's Day is a different day in the UK than if is here in Canada.)
ReplyDeleteI love having flowers in my house - I just have to be very careful about where I put them because my cats love to eat plants haha. I guess you're lucky Ralphie can't jump into counters and shelves and such ;)
