Sometimes you just gotta swing by the gift shop, even if it does result in spending more money that is perhaps sensible. But who needs to be sensible when you can instead have a thoroughly good time, right? I have always enjoyed collecting souvenirs, and dotting them around my space is a wonderful way to relive some of the memories from brilliant days. Not every day goes as well as we would like it to and for those days I think it's important to surround yourself with things that make you smile.
Half way around the tour = Butterbeer time! This time I got mine in the uber-expensive tankard so I would be able to use it as a pen holder, alongside the Butterbeer cup I got last time I visited the tour, on my desk. Totally worth it. The mini cauldron now houses bookmarks on my shelf alongside a Pygmy Puff (who still needs to be named!) and some round spectacles that totally suckered me in as I was queuing to pay.
The crystal goblet is such a tactile object that serves no purpose really other than looking fabulous on my desk. Often dark magic is the most fascinating but mostly it's a reminder that sometimes it's necessary to make sacrifices or compromise to achieve something important.
Do you like collecting souvenirs from places you visit?

The cauldron and the glasses look so cool. I have the Butterbeer cup too. I'm eyeing up a wand for the next time I go. Or a cloak. Or everything. So much awesome, so little money.
ReplyDeleteThe wands are amazing...and so are the cloaks <3
DeleteI'm like the biggest Harry Potter fan, I love all of these souvenirs you picked up, especially the cauldron and the glasses! I don't remember seeing either of them when I visited the studios last time, looks like I will just have to go again... Great post x

They weren't there the first time I went either, I think they've added some new goodies <3
DeleteI always want to buy souvenirs but it's justifying how to use them! I usually stick to magnets.

Definitely know that feeling, I totally wanted another wand but I didn't know what I'd do with it xo
DeleteLove those Butterbeer cups Jennie! I might just have to pick one up whenever I finally manage to go back to the tour, I was very good and didn't buy anything at the gift shop when I went! x
ReplyDeleteCouldn't resist the tankard! Oh my goodness...teach me your ways! xx

ReplyDeleteOh no!! xx
DeleteThese are so cool Jennie - I love the Pygmy Puff! I have a set of wands and a Marauders map on the wall in my hallway :)
ReplyDeleteAhh that sounds amazing! xo
DeleteAaw! I hope you can think of a name for your Puff! :) In Florida, the people at the tills would ask what you wanted to name them and then make an announcement! xxx
ReplyDeleteAww that's adorable!! xx
DeleteThese are so cute! I've been to the harry potter experience twice but not actually bought any of the merchandise! I do really need to get something cute for the flat x

Oh gosh, how did you manage to resist?! xx
DeleteI used to get souvenirs all the time! But now that I'm in college and need to switch dorm rooms every year, I'm less inclined to hoard things. But sometimes I let myself indulge a little, because scattering souvenirs and other trinkets around the room always makes me feel more at home :) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

Gotta love the gift shop <3
DeleteI love collecting little keepsakes from my travels. They end up getting boxed away after a while, but every so often we have a clear out and it's always nice to find my little 'treasure box' and feel the memories come flooding back! (The pygmy puff is adorable by the way!) x

Aww lovely, like rediscovering memories <3
DeleteAh I LOVE these souvenirs! So happy you managed to visit again, I'm dying to go for the third time to see the Hogwarts Express! xx
ReplyDeleteYou must go, the train is so incredible <3
DeleteOkay, using Butterbeer glasses and tankards to hold pens and pencils is the cutest idea ever! I have a big pink Pygmy Puff (yours is so cute and dinky!) called Tiana - I have no idea why I called her that, but it's stuck! She sits in my study by the window and I smile every time I glance into that room and spot her because she reminds me of lovely trips to London.

Aww so lovely! <3
DeleteI love souvenirs! Especially if they're from amazing places. I have the same pygmy puff keyring but mine is all dirty now from him being on my keys for so long. I think I'll get a big one next time I go back so he can sit on my desk!

The big ones are super adorable <3
DeleteI especially like the little cauldron! You picked up some wonderful souvenirs. I love picking up something as a souvenir if it's a new place I've never visited before as a little way to remember it xx

DeleteOh my god you go to go to Harry Potter tour! My family went last year but work wouldn't let me have the day off (BOOOO) so I spent the day miserable knowing that my sister and family were happily sipping on butterbeer and I was at WORK. Being a grown up sucks.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they did Pygmy Puffs! I am once again overwhelmed with jealousy and spite. :P
Oh no, that's so mean of your work! I really hope that you get to visit! They have an online store too, so if you wanted to pick up a little something you totally could! xo
DeleteAll so gorgeous! I try to buy a little something from places I go, that I want to remember! But it depends...if it's too expensive then I won't, I'll just make sure I take a fair few pictures to remember it by.
