Expensive beauty products offer that little touch of luxury and I think they're great, but there's a big part of me that loves a good bargain. Here are some of my favourite products that are under £5 each. Unfortunately they're not all cruelty free so I'll have to make the most of them whilst looking for alternatives but at least trying new things is fun!
MUA Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow Palette | £4
I'm not much of an eyeshadow wearer so this palette pretty much does everything I need. The pigmentation is great for something that's under a fiver too. It's definitely one of those things that feels more expensive than it actually is.
Sleek Pout Polish in Bare Minimum | £4.49
Glossy, balmy, lip products are my favourite kind, especially when they're in a nude but not too nude shade like this. I'm not the biggest fan of the pot packaging, but the product inside is worth it.
Carmex Moisture Plus Lip Balm | £4.49
I told you I had a bit of a thing for tinted lip balms, they're just so darn comfortable to wear. Nothing fancy but it does the job, hydrating whilst offering a hint of pink.
Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose | £3.99
You know when you find a colour that isn't really anything special but just works on your skin tone? This is exactly that for me. It doesn't look very exciting in the pan but it's stunning on. A touch of a neutral colour on my cheeks gives my complexion a little lift and never looks too strong. I like when I find something that I can't go overboard with because sometimes it's nice to just be able to whack something on and not to have to blend blend blend...
Seventeen Stay Time Concealer | £4.49
This has been my go to concealer for a long time. It gives the perfect amount of coverage both under my eyes and on any redness without being heavy or looking too obvious. My skin is incredibly dry at the moment so while it doesn't blend in seamlessly, it does do a pretty good job and I can't really complain.
Maybelline Brow Drama | £4.99
The wand is a little...large on the end there, but I think it's good having some affordable brow products that aren't strange colours, usually they're too red or too dark or too something that makes them not quite right. As someone who doesn't really like to do very much to their brows, running a little of this through them gives just the right amount of definition and ensures they're not splaying out at strange angles.
Collection Shimmer Shades in Blushalicious | £4.19
Four shades in one... can't go wrong with that for under £5!
Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick | £4.79
These are really great if you love sheer, glossy lip colours. My favourite shade is cashmere, which I know a lot of people don't like because it is incredibly sheer, but I love it. If it were pigmented it would be one of those concealer nudes that are pretty much totally unwearable, but the sheer glossy formula means it just mutes down the natural colour of my lips a little and feels like a balm.
Sleek Pout Paint | £4.99
These tiny tubes certainly pack a big punch! The smallest amount gives a huge amount of colour so although it doesn't seem like there's a lot in there, I'd say it may actually be impossible to ever finish a whole tube. There are some brilliant colours in the range and they're designed to be mixed together to create custom colours so there's lots of fun to be had there!
What are your favourite under £5 products?

Great picks. There are some seriously good cheap makeup brands! Love the look of the Sleek gloss, reminds me of the Soap & Glory one in a pot.

At the moment I'm really loving the Maybelline Colour Drama lip pencils - really nice shades and great lasting power too. High street beauty has improved so much over the past 3-5 years I think, and you can get some amazing quality products at really decent prices!

I want everything in this list! <3
ReplyDeleteThat Pout Polish Bare Minimum is my go to lip product. I know it's playing it safe, but sadly my face shape and the fact that I am pale as a ghost means bright reds and pinks make me look completely ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteIs there a 'safe' pout paint or are they all quite out there? I'ma go google.
Who doesn't love a good bargain? :) I really want to try that Sleek palette even though I'm also not the biggest eyeshadow wearer, but the colors look really beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteThat brow gel looks like something I need! I can never find one that suits me ): And of course, all the Sleek products are making me want to order some right now.
