Last week was the most unproductive week and I feel terrible for it. I used to long for the summer holidays, six weeks of doing absolutely nothing, but the prospect of that sounds horrendous now. Yesterday was incredibly rainy (hello typical British weather!), so as I was tucked up on the sofa watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (bloody brilliant!) I made a giant to-do list. There's all sorts on there, from places I'd like to visit soon to ideas I need to figure out how to put into practice. They won't all be do-able, but it felt like the start of something.

Somehow I got roped into painting my Mum's hallway. Come over for a cup of tea, she said. Oh and while you're here you don't fancy painting this 10ft tall wall, do you? So in return for copious cups of tea and some bourbon biscuits I painted a wall and managed to make a complete mess in the process. Thankfully she knows me well and covered everything in sight with sheets.

How has your weekend been so far?
The hairdressers is so expensive but I'd be too scared to cut my own hair! Your's looks lovely :)

Thank you <3
DeleteI only ever go to the hairdressers when they're looking for hair models, as it will only cost me £10 or less to get it cut which is a bargain. The best 'offer' I've ever had is having my hair dyed for free! Your highlights look lovely in that photo :).
ReplyDeleteSometimes an unproductive week is needed, and like you said the typical British weather and Harry Potter is just what we need sometimes!

Ohh that's amazing! xo
DeleteWish I had the knack to do my own highlights- really is ridiculously expensive! Had my friend do it once but oh my, emergency appointment the next day!
ReplyDeleteOhh no!! xx
DeleteHaha, it makes me wonder what I used to do on summer holidays? I honestly can't remember! I suppose I played out! xxx
ReplyDeleteI think I did too! I remember I had one of those micro scooters so I went up and down the street a lot. And I watched A LOT of Nickelodeon haha xx
DeleteLove your hair! Such a nice tone :)

Thank you! xx
DeleteOh, I started cutting my hair after a bad trip to the hair dresser, but years after that I met my boyfriend and his mum is a great hairstylist so she does my hair for me whenever we visit her - which is once or twice a year.

Aww that's amazing! xo
DeleteI've only ever been to the hairdressers to have my hair done as I'm too scared to do it myself! However, if you can do it yourself, then why not. Definitely saves some pennies! I've been watching HP too in anticipation of going to Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando next week :) xxx

DeleteHairdressers can be crazy money! Like you I occasionally give it a trim myself + rely on either a bun or a hat to cover it up when it goes a tad wonky haha! xoxo Louise | Reads and Recipes A literary lifestyle blog
ReplyDeleteHaha hats are brilliant at covering mistakes! xx
DeleteI always cut my own hair too, mainly because I hate sitting in the hairdressers but also parting with that amount of money is painful!

I know, it's a lot! xx
DeleteTo be honest there isn't much I wouldn't do for bourbon biscuits. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you cut your own hair. I tried it once and it was wonky. Maybe it's my terrible eyesight?
Best biscuits! xx
DeleteI'm so impressed that you did that yourself, your hair looks gorgeous! Beautiful photo too :)

ReplyDeleteI love the new header by the way xx
Thank youu <3
DeleteI'm so impressed that you're brave enough to cut your own hair! My nan is a hairdresser so she has always cut my hair for me, which is perfect as the hairdressers is so expensive to go to and I would definitely be too scared to do it myself!

If my nan was a hairdresser I'd definitely get her to work her magic on my hair too! xx
DeleteI'm so scared to do anything to my own hair, nevermind cut it! I hate the hairdressers too but I just couldn't do it myself! I'm impressed, it looks really nice! :)

Thanks sweet <3
DeleteYour highlight look lovely and natural, Jennie. Perfect for the (hopefully) sunnier months.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Harry Potter (whether book or film) on a rainy day sounds like perfection.

Fingers crossed for lots of sunshine <3
DeleteDon't worry, I haven't been very productive either. Right now I'm telling myself that as long as I do even ONE thing a day, at least I'm making progress, even if it's just reading one chapter of a book. Moving slowly is better than moving nowhere at all :) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way to look at things! Xx
DeleteI am exactly the same when it comes to hair! I have actually never been to the hair dressers! I find that L'Oreal's casting sunkiss lightening jelly is amazing for giving naturally sunkissed blonde hair! Lovely post by the way! :)
