► I've been having a reoccurring dream where I quit everything, move to a remote cottage in rural Scotland and mange to make things work with a slightly unreliable internet connection and a whole lot of happiness. This is either the universe trying to tell me something or I'm growing weary of the neighbours playing dance music in the early hours of weekday mornings Maybe it's both.
► Is it possible to work on a few things simultaneously, or is it really necessary to commit to just one thing? Everyone tells me it's the latter, but I'm not so sure that's it's my path to happiness.

When you can't find anything always go to Ikea! They have everything haha x

Was so great reading this! thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGet your lampshade for your new cottage in Scotland. Happy Days :)
ReplyDeleteI have always been someone who is restless mentally and had more than one focus at a time. While I do think one "project" can take precedent at different times, leaving the others on the back burner, I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing. I feel like it's hardwired into our brains, so even if we tried to have one focal point it wouldn't work. x

I'm so picky about lampshades it's really weird! I never like any XD

Sometimes IT IS that hard to find a lampshade and honestly, it's perfectly okay! We all want our lampshades to be well.. at least decent looking! I at least do.
ReplyDeleteAnd regarding your neighbors, try and ask them (or get your bf to ask them) to be quiet sometimes.. If they do it all the time it ain't okay in my opinion!

Bah, dance music! :( That would annoy me too! I'm sure you'll find the perfect lampshade somewhere but IKEA is always a sure bet, or you'll come home with a bunch of other things you didn't really intend on buying! xxx
ReplyDeleteI hope all your dreams come true sweet Jennie, re-occuring or not! You deserve it <3

I hope you find a lampshade you like - I got mine from Dunelm Mills and The Range. Maybe have a look online?
ReplyDeleteI believe you can do anything you want to xx

Em, could it be possible to take me with you to that cottage in Scotland? I can cook, bake and I'm quite good at organising/cleaning :D
ReplyDeleteAh, I hope your dreams come true!! Xx

I'd say the key to happiness is to try to do everything that makes you happy! Why focus on one thing? <3
ReplyDeleteI don't have to suffer weekday dance music (I do get 4am high heels upstairs on Sunday mornings, which is annoying enough!) but running away to a rural cottage in the highlands is still a pretty big dream.

Hi Jennie, I have been going through the same lately. I just wish to drop everything and run away to the woods. My lamp broke and I have been without a reading lamp for the past few weeks. Been on the hunt for a new one lately.
ReplyDeleteI believe committing to one thing would be good as the productivity level will be high.
Sending you lots of hugs.
The remote cottage in rural Scotland sounds a dream, I have similar fantasies about a beautiful place in Pembrokeshire, Wales ... ahhh!
ReplyDeleteP.S I've just noticed that my blog name at the end of your posts is up at Loved By LeLe instead of Laugh With Me LeLe! Thanks again so much for featuring me on your blog though! Only just noticed this myself! :)
Oh no!! I've been getting it wrong all month! Have changed it now! :)
DeleteDon't worry at all! :) I only just noticed myself, thank you :) x
DeleteI would absolutely love to drop everything and move to a remote cottage in Scotland. The remoter the better. x
ReplyDeleteThat's so weird, as your dream is basically my ideal future home!

Oh I have that remote cottage dream far too many times. What is it that makes us crave isolation like that? All the associations with simplicity and inspiration? One day we'll have that, maybe
