Tonight from 8:30pm until 9:30pm we'll be switching off our lights for Earth Hour. I have an appointment with my cosiest pyjamas, some candles and the pure joy that comes from delving into a new book. I'm looking forward to it so much that I might have to make it a regular thing.
As for what I'm reading? A copy of My Name is Leon by Kit de Waal arrived this week, (I'm not sure where from but it's very gratefully received!), and it sounds like it might break my heart, which is, as I'm sure you know by now, one of my favourite types of book.

What are you currently reading?
And are you going to participate in Earth Hour tonight?

Sounds like you'll be having a lovely night! I would do the same thing but I like in college and we're not allowed candles :( so I think I'll be reading Tales from Shadowhunter Academy in ebook form instead! I adore your blog, great post! And yay for looking after our environment!! xx
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of this before, but like the sound of it, a good idea to raise some awareness. Especially like the sound of candles and a book.
ReplyDeleteI want to celebrate Earth Hour tonight, I have to convince everyone else in the house to take part though! And sadly I have to babysit my cousin so I won't be able to enjoy a quiet hour in a book. I guess I can just make it a plan for tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be at work during earth hour and sadly we can't turn the lights off (elderly people + darkness is a dreadful combination!) but I might do my own mini earth hour on Monday evening... It sounds like a fab excuse to cosy up with a good book! I hope you enjoy your new read :)

I didn't realise it was Earth Hour tonight.. I'm having dinner round my parents so I'll try and encourage them to participate by taking some candles round or something :) xx

ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading Poison Study by Maria V Snyder - I'm really loving it so far, about 60% through :)

I attended at program last night for Earth Hour too! It's amazing how the world unites for climate change.

Darn! I missed this :( Gosh, that sounds like a very snuggly, cosy evening! I hope you enjoyed it <3 xxx
ReplyDeleteI completely missed it! Goodness it's like I literally live under a rock, I hardly know what's going on ever. I like what you say about making it a regular thing though- just switching off the 21st century and unplugging. I call it 'hibernating' and I do it quite often!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting idea - I wish I knew about this before now! I hope you had a lovely evening :-)
ReplyDeleteAwwh bless you babe, I can't believe I had to work for Earth hour! I was looking forward to getting stuck into a book too :) xx

We did Earth Hour at my pop up restaurant (a little later than scheduled but still for over an hour) and it was SO lovely to take part :)

We had a candlelit dinner for Earth Hour! Which might also need to be a weekly occurrence! x
